I had a book recently from the library all about the history of RL in Liverpool, particularly around the different incarnations of the team. I remember there being a Huyton variant in the 70's but can't remember much else from the book (mind you I didn't really read it, just flicked though)

the one that interests me on that list is Radcliffe. I set up and run a side from on the edges of radcliffe yet i've heard of no such club...

trafford borough is there as it was chorley borough first. bell vuew were obviously broughton rangers first...

Founded in 1875, they joined the Northern Union in 1896/7 as a Lancashire Second Competition club. Later had just one season as a senior club in 1901/2. Played at Peel Park from 1890 onwards and at Cross Lane and Withins before that.

To most passionate supporters of RL the history of our sport is of great interest whereas to you, your attitude is "Who gives a s**t about the past?".

Simple solution, if you're not interested just ignore the thread but I find it sad that you obviously derive great pleasure from ridiculing those who are.

A lot of RL fans are very proud of their history and there's nowt wrong with that.

Did you know St.Helens had two semi pro teams up to the 2nd World War,St.Helens and St. Helens Recs.

It's good to look at the games past and those who made it. I'm currently doing a study of Wire NU players who died in the Great War. Many of these teams mentioned get a mention pre 1914.

That is quite amusing.
