At least we get more than 1,500 fans at home after we'd just won the week before.

Besides the fact Cas have done things only Quins can dream of, we were given 3 years to create a team good enough to fight for the top 8 and what have we done? Brought through a quality of youth players that probably have England futures, built our crowds year upon year (Something clearly Quins have failed to do) and improved off the pitch with sponsorships, more money coming into the club etc

Quins RL are 6 years old, there is a lot of building still to be done. Cas are 85 years old, when they were 6 years old there was still a lot of building to be done.

| Can anyone confirm if the game was promoted in the local media offering 2 tickets for £15? I did read on here somewhere that they was doing this.

Quins RL may be 6 years old, but how old is London Rugby as a whole?

In the SL era London have made it to the CC final and finished second in the league.
Its Round 2, there's a long way to go before the play offs yet.
5995 turned up to the Hudds match. Your crowds have been going down over the years.

So you think a club in the heartlands, surrounded by a strong amateur game is at the same starting point as an expansion club like quins, who have had to create an strong amateur game?
Quins, in terms of spreading the game and getting people playing, have done things Cas can only dream of. They have, in their many guises, created and built a amateur game which now produces international players.
Yes the club need to improve their attendances, 1766 really isnt good enough, but they are playing catch up at first grade level (and this isnt something they will do in the championships) and that is only one part of a very difficult puzzle. The fact is RL in London is excelling in some key and important areas, this isnt usurped by the fact the Quins club are poorly attended.
There were times that Leeds, Cas, bradford, Sts, Wigan, Wakefield, not so long ago were poorly attended. Leeds, when they finally got it right, but 10k in about 10 years on their attendances, Bradford during bullmania put on 7 or 8k.
At the start of SL, London didnt start at the same point as everyone else, they were behind them, they are catching up fast, and when they do, the crowds will grow.

They didn't get crowds in their last location , or the one before that , that's why they moved
Where exactly should they move to ?
And to tell the truth I expect Crusaders attendances to mirror Londons/Quins , they shortly peak and then drop

They are anonymous to most others as they play under the same name as one of the most well-known Union sides in the world. The current Quins set up is absolutely ridiculous, I fully believe if they had their own stadium in an area that they were able to properly market and develop, they could easily achieve good crowds. There's no reason why they shouldn't, people from London are no different from anyone else and there's a heck of a lot of them. Despite what anyone says, 'Quins RL' is not and never will be an attractive proposition for fans. I probably wouldn't go and watch if I lived in London.

How do you feel fans of good rugby league towns with good rugby league history feel when they see these crowds feel ?
Look at widnes, they are a true rugby league town with a good crowd base, their own stadia but can't get a look in for past god knows how many years.
While the Quins being in super league has done wonders for the game a grassroots, just think how it must have hit the grassroots level in towns like widnes.

| The thrashing they handed to Widnes 'b' team yesterday is an example of what is going on in London
MoM today was O'Callaghan- Local lad.
It doesnt matter what your crowd is when you have a wealthy owner-

They also moved every few years with little chance of getting any sort of sustainable base.

How much media attention does the game get down there exactly? I hardly ever see any of this mentioned on SSN or any other channel for that matter. The fact is that RL is, and always has been a Northern sport and if you don't believe that then find me stastical evidence to say otherwise. The fact is that RL in London cannot compete with the football sides that are around there, let alone the fact that it is a hotbed for RU.

Probably annoyed, but there's no reason to, crowds are not the be-all and end-all and in fact as long as finances are in order they don't really matter for anything at all. I doubt Quins have harmed youth development in Widnes, considering Widnes's U18s won their league. Quins aren't the only club stopping Widnes from being in Super League. Instead of slating them we should be looking at ways they can improve, because if they got their act together they could be an extremely valuable asset.
