| Back in the 1980s Bradford Northern got a bloke called Mario Fenech who wandered about looking lost and without expending any great effort. He lasted about two games. There are some people (with, perhaps, shorter memories) from Bradford who put in a claim for Nick Zisti, who was also pretty undistinguished, but he was in a different league to Fenech who took being useless to amazing levels.

| haha Mario is now on the Footy show and equally as lost! I think that ball to the head , hence his nickname Falcon, knocked what remaining brain cells he had left out!
There is a classic wind up of him on that well known video site, look for "Kurt Gidley pranks mario fenech".

| Same as previous Wigan fans it would have to be Doc Murray. He was useless bar his debut in a boxing day friendly against Saints when he got mom.
It was all downhill from there.

Manu did once scored a 90 metre try in a cup game for Leigh against Leeds, mind.
We've had a few. Jason Ferris, Luke Issaka (who played the sum total of 25 minutes in a two year contract IIRC), Alan Mason...

| We have had a fair few at Cas, but for me Brent Sherwin was the worst value for money player we have ever signed. Massive wages but never even attempted to get match-fit when he wasn't injured.

Will have to agree to disagree JB. IMO Michael Smith was a critical part of our promotion season. If we hadn't made it that year we probably wouldn't be there now (Cas would have been hot favs to go up in 2007, as they did do). Therefore Smithy was worth whatever we were paying him.

Luke Issaka? Did we get confused and thought we were signing Isaac Luke?

I could understand Hull FC or St Helens fans mentioning Michael Smith, but not any Hull KR fan - his effort could not be faulted in the promotion-winning season and he was - deservedly so - a huge fans favourite!
Yes, James Goulding and David Hoskins were bad, but there have been far, far worse at Craven Park.
What about early 90's disasters like Peter Anderson, Troy Goldman and Dave Webber?
Never heard of them? Exactly!

You'd not deny though that Zisti has to get the award for the SL era? For on-field performances (such as they were) anyway? Although Tupou probably came close. The Toerag whose name we do not speak has to take the award for off-field?

To be fair I thought Vautin played decent for us in the 88/89 season when he came over with O'Connor.

Yeah, didn't remember him been too bad, but watched a Wakefield away game the other day and he wasn't the best defender. Not a bad runner with the ball though.

Eager was a chocolate fireguard at Warrington. Then turned out to be a decent play for Cas. The other Swann's we're at least tolerable, Willie was as average as average come's, as were the rest of the players around him, and I actually rated Logan
The depressing thing is, as bad as this squad is, we could go three fold for the garbage British players!

Come on, P&B glasses off, Appo (except one fantastic season) was useless! Rauhihi came over and did very little, apart from throwing the ball on the floor and rolling around on the floor. The best two things he did for Warington were chasing back and catching Brent Webb (iirc) and giving Andy Coley the good hiding he deserved!
And as for Wilshire... crock! That is all!
