If league status was based primarily on onfield performance, Wakey would not have anything to worry about as we have for the last 3 years done well in an area which in sport should be the key.
I hate it when Giants fans get all condescending about other clubs when the truth is if KD wasn't bankrolling the cheap season tickets and you hadn't got lucky with HTFC primarily the reason for getting the McAlpine you would have crowds on a par with ours and be playing in a ground worse than ours.
If Wakey could afford to put together the team you have we would get bigger crowds than you are now without any subsidised tickets

but for that seriously rich man huddersfield would still be playing in front of 250 people with a derby against hunslet.

True: Pelo and Fakir off to union on 10 times the salary.
True: McGuire & Bell off contract and not renewed, possibly Walker to leave due to injury.
True: Elima, Ferriol and Guisset at the end of contract and talks not resolved.
Possible: Greenshields targeted by some other club due to being the best FB in SL and possibly the whole Northern Hemisphere.
True: Gates have been lower this year than last.
This does not either support the possibility that the Catalans are in financial crisis nor explain away that they aren't. It would be good to know the scope of the problem if there is one. The bottom line is that of the known departing players only Pelo is a serious loss, others are good but their time has past or they are replaceable. We could further cut our running costs by dropping Carlaw and Sherwin without greatly damaging our on-field success. In fact, we could possibly discuss selling Johnson as we have a decent LF to take his place.

This is the biggest problem that any French club is going to have trying to establish itself at the top level of RL in SL
Any quality players produced by Catalans or even Toulouse are going to be poached by the French RU clubs with big money offers
Very difficult situation

| Which RL Clubs arn't in financial problems, Widnes went bust a few years ago, points deductions at Rochdale Keighley and Gateshead, Whitehaven a whisker away from a CVA, Salford had to have an emergency loan this year off the local council, Wakey and Cas haven't got the money between them to build a garden shed nevermind a new stadium, Blackpool couldn't pay the players wages last month and had to get bailed out by a director, in fact there's a tiny minority of clubs that just about break even. The only club that constantly lives within it's means is London Skolars that's why they are last every year!

what you say is reality and some people dont want to here it.
its a lot easier to walk around with your head up your arris shouting nothing is wrong with RL everything is wonderful.
debts are good, non payments are good, all sports have them.
these people live in cuckoo land.
how good it must be to follow a club with 10thou+ gates every week and 1.2 million season off sky

'" Well you might be, I am more inclined to believe the CEO Richard Wright than some bloke on a forum. But that could just be me. Do most clubs spent £140k on architechts when they have no money to buidl a stadium? The council have given the club land they can borrow money against, the can't do anything else with the land though.

Not what I understand. Nearly 3 years from planning permission and nothing. Even your own chairman made comments a few months ago about downgrading because of money problems. Not bad to say he was claiming in 2006 that completion would be Oct 2008! One word...SKINT!!!!!
