in fairness, quins looked like a very weak squad before the start of the season and were always going to struggle
i dont necessarily think changing the coach will make too much difference. unlike warrington last season who were an expensive and high quality squad who simply weren,t performing. quins i feel are not underperforming.
if this squad is what they can afford then they were never going to be at the top end of the table.
maybe the expectations are too high

That is almost as much garbage as I had the misfortune to witness today.

The coach lost the plot last season - and he has demonstrated that he has not got a clue. Today was a classic example of a man completely out of his depth and he should do the decent thing and go. I know we dont have a glut of top class player but you need the ones you do have to be putting in decent performances to help with the young lads, but what is going on with the likes of Randall, Melling, LMS, Williamson ? They are a shadow of themselves. Atrocious, no other word for it. How will we as a club ever grow if we put in this terrible level of performance week in, week out, season in, seaosn out. Is it any wonder crowds are plumetting ? Whats on show is awful, please go McDermott

The RFL should do the decent thing and resign Harlequins from Super League. Absolutely awfull club. (albeit i do like the loyal 5 fans that turn up to Knowlsey road every season).

Agree 100% They should be kicked out of the league - an absolute abomination of a club. The name and colours itself are an insult to the wonderful game of rugby league.

Crusaders have done more in a couple of months in terms of creating an exciting, vibrant, well marketed club than Harlequins have in years.

So you don't know what a coach does then clearly.

Apparently players ultimately know their role in a different team with different players without any coaching whatsoever. We aren't talking clever players here. We're apparently talking psychic players.

So again, why have a coach?

So they have no pride in their performance and what they can do and have to rely on being told what to do all the time?

Based on this and other threads I can only come to one conclusion.

If you team loses it is down to the coach and/or the match officials but never ever the players.

I must have been wrong in thinking that the players were the ones who counted. scored all the points did/did not make the tackle, knocked on/didn't knock on, caaught the ball/missed the ball and all along it was the coach and/or match officials who didi it

The RFL have no power to do any such thing as long as Quins don't break any rules.

From some aye, I've thought that our objective this season was to avoid last place, we just don't have the money to do much else. The squad there needs a couple of old heads to help out the young talent that is there, mind having so many decent players out injured doesn't help.

TACTICS

A coach has the responsibility to establish a game plan at the outset of a game and modify it according to the way the game is going. In the case of McDermott that is an alien concept. There are numberous examples in yesterdays game but I will just get depressed if I relive them



PLAYER DEVELOPMENT

A coach should be responsible for ensuring that players continue to develop - yes ? I ask you this, why has the development of LMS, Melling, Clubb (all rep players), Randall gone into reverse gear. They are a shadow of the players at the start of 2009. We seem content to trot out the same line about all the London youngsters coming through, and dont get me wrong that a great thing, but we are neglecting our senior players. Their confidence looks shot and this is totally down to the coach. I suggest he has lost the dressing room.

Don't be so stupid. Players are already built with these in them when they get to SL level, and are also well aware of the tactics the team are going to use using their psychic ability.
The coach just picks who the 17 are apparently.
