I lived in London for 18 years and gave a lot of support to Fulham/Broncos before moving away. When I lived there even a home game was a 24 mile round-trip for me. I think I live in the 'real world' thank you very much. Quins do need bigger gates - but so do Salford who are supposedly a 'heartland' club and have had 100 years to build their support. Until recently Giants and Wakey weren't much better. And if you can't see the difference between travelling 20-100 miles for away games all season, and the fact that Quins fans have to contemplate 200 mile all-day round-trips every other week then you need to consider how many away games [iyou [/iwould attend in such circumstances.

ok i admit i did 3 away games last season cas wakey and bradford. all of which are about a 500 mile round trip i lost 8 weeks of the summer through work also made the grandfinal. i know about the expense trust me each one took me to the overdraft limit.

Bridgend is 164ish miles each way for me and i got to a good 7 home games last year. so yea ok i only made 10 of the season games not as many as i'd have like but to moan about a 200 mile day out? thats what you sign up for when you support SL in the south get over it.

Ask yourself, how did you get into RL? I'd say a vast majority of Northern based supporters got into it through their family, something that we haven't had the chance to benefit from yet. I'm not too concerned about it tbh.

I must have been looking the wrong way in the hundreds, maybe thousands of times I have watched rugby at the Halton Stadium/Naughton Park.

Sure there has been trouble, mainly when we play Wire and the goons crawl out of the woodwork and the odd squabble between individuals who get excitable but the place isn't exactly a burning cauldron of violence.

Don't try to dream up a non existant issue if your is getting twitchy.

If there is always violence there when you attend, then maybe there is one common denominator.

It's not as bad as some would have you believe but I've seen plenty of trouble when visiting Widnes. Our windscreen got broke while we were driving back as some cretin scouser smacked it a few years back. Me mum also got threatened on a different occasion.
It happens everywhere, but to claim Widnes is somehow innocent because a semi final is played there is a bit ridiculous

The facts are simple.

No one goes to watch Harlequins RL.

England is a small place, but it seems to take forever to actually get anywhere. If hardly any 'home' fans go along then why would any 'away' fans bother?

Harlequins are haemorraging money, they have no fans, they seldom win a game, the 'Moon' is a soul less place to visit because there is zero atmosphere and no one there. They have a 'coach' who can't coach, no big name players. You cant buy a replica kit even if you wanted to.

All I know about Widnes is that it's located near other Superleague clubs and the fans actually seem to care about their club.

From what I recall they raised funds to enable their club to get David Peachy over to play for them. How many London fans would have the cojones to do something like that???

London hasn't worked as a Rugby league entity since its conception back in the 1980s. It wont work.
