| hmm noo, The idea of bringing a player through your academy system makes them your junior.
Where you played amateur rugby at 11 years old makes diddly squat

| Quote ="Jonesy"Good on Gareth.
He is playing for a team equivalent to Harlequins in the NRL.
Two players from each team had to be picked, Marshall was an automatic pick so it was down to Gareth or Robbie Farah.
He did well he came 1st out of a two Horse race.'"
Tigers equiv of Quins? Quins won a premiership in the last few years?
Not taking anything away from Ellis, but...
Only one player per club was to be picked. Captiains and Vice Captains of NZ and Aus were picked automatically.
Therefore:
Marshall who would have been the tigers fan pick was an automatic inclusion
Farah who would have polled second didnt really have a chance as his position hooker was taken by australian vice captain Cameron smith
Ellis is your tigers Bradbury. But I am happy for him to make the squad, bringing more of international feel to the game.

| Hindy, I was just talking off the top of my head, West Tigers are a mid table club at best and had that one memorable year in 2005 where a lot of things fell their way and they became the most unexpected winners in about 2 life times.
In 10 years they have made the finals just once 2005 where they came 4th.
I agree with the comments you make regarding Ellis selection, it was him Tuiaki or an unknown.

You don't expect Dally to answer where hard facts are concerned
Ellis has spent more time attached to the Wakefield club than any other and as such they deserve the greater pat on the back - the idea that Wakey stole him for Cas is not quite correct - nothing new there from dally - Cas did not make him an offer as Raper - another useless Aussie thankfully departed from our game - was not interested in youth development. So if Wakey had not picked him up he could have been lost to the game.

For Wigan maybe, but not in the eyes of most Cas fans, saved us from almost certain relegation and then took us to within 80 mins of a Grand Final appearance.
Taken from Wikipedia:-

For junior development; which is the life blood of any club - you only have to look at the benefits the Rhinos have gained from a coherent youth development programs - he was a disaster.
The long term implications of Raper's time at Cas was relegation?
At Wigan the team really under performed and given he is now plying his trade as a TV pundit that would suggest his coaching credentials are dubious at best - having said that I would still rather have him the McRae; the triumph of front over substance

He never played for Cas at any level.
Amature clubs in the UK are not affiliated to senior clubs, there is no such thing as a "Junior" club. Some clubs have an historical connection that is all. Stanley Rangers from Wakeefield have produced as many players for Cas as Wakey.
He grew up in Selby.
Castleford is a suburb of Wakey.
Richard Owen born 25 November 1991 in Pontefract, Yorkshire, England is a rugby league player for the Castleford Tigers in the European Super League, he also played for Oulton Raiders in his youth. So who created this lad, Leeds, Wakefield or Cas?

Incorrect. He's a Marist College North Shore boy. And despite hm playing for one season in the Balmain Leagues his junior club is Asquiths (like Kieron and Liam Foran). A North Sydney District Club. He played for Norths in the juniors too before the Roosters offered him a spot.
Point is, he did play at all these clubs, so who can say they developed him?
