| Doesn't matter how bad the team was last year. It should of been £10 tickets behind the goals with £20 on the sideline and it would of sold out easily. It's going to be embarrasing. The gate will be less than Wigan got on against saints this year.
There a couple of hundred thousand RL supporters who attend games, people should not be able to get a ticket at this stage if they could all be bothered.

But they can't and it's unreasonable to expect that they would all be bothered.
Of course it matters how bad the team was last year. They are by and large the same team this year if not weaker. It's a good indicator of what the likely result will be this time.
The prices are ridiculously cheap. It's costing me £80 to take 8 people. You people don't know you're born.

Maybe unreasonable to expect they should all be bothered, but there is enough fans in Wigan to fill the stadium along with Saints and warrington fans.
They should of had a game in Hull IMO.

| I have just booked tkts for the final at elland rd.
I enquired about the east stand upper, and was told it might not be open
due to refurbishments. I suspect this is the stock answer if its a aus-nz final (ie not a sellout)
If England got to the final im sure the demand for tkts would mean they opened it

| It would help if the RFL allowed you to buy a ticket via the dog and bone after 5pm. How hard is it to have someone there?

Hard? No it is quite easy, expensive though.

| The pricing of these games in a world wide recession is the main reason this game wasnt sold out months ago!
Them games at Wembley, OT and ER in the 80's and 90's were all reasonably priced!!
Dont forget some SL fans choose not to pay to watch their own teams in the SL play-offs so what chance do we have of enticing them to watch International RL at these prices?

| The RFL may go to 15 or 16 clubs next time around.
If Toulouse do come in that's one more place for a "local" club.
Should an existing SL club be binned then that would be two coming in.
Some SL clubs are not making any, or very little, progress with their new grounds and could face being dumped.
The Champ clubs made it even more difficult for themselves by lowering the salary cap to £300k. They should have raised it to narrow the gap between them and SL not the opposite. The champ clubs play good rugby but there's hardly a SL quality player in the League.
When Champ club' fans complain about a lack of promotion they should be careful what they wish for. SL is a high cost low revenue business. We already have Gateshead in trouble and Oldham are having problems again. That's after Rochdale and Doncaster going into admin already this year.

Still plenty of £20 tickets left. 2 adults and 2 kids for £40 as well. Hardly a rip off. Especially when people will pay £20 in a open stand at Hull KR/Leeds, and £18 at grounds like Wakey and Salford. And £16 to watch the likes of Leigh.
If people don't want to go then fair enough but just admit it rather than making half hearted excuses.

What he said. It cost me more to watch Leigh play a dead rubber NRC game at Swinton earlier this season than it will to watch the game on Saturday. Summat seriously wrong with the game that this one will be a good few thousand from selling out when it's cheaper than a lot of Super League games, and certainly the Grand Final.

There is nothing wrong with the prices, £20 to watch your nation play the second best team in the world is a bargain.

| I have an excellent idea, shut up moaning, buy a ticket and go to the game.
Thats the only way the game will sell out.
France will get around 10k and i think the England game will sell out........it has to surely?? If we care about our game, first time on bbc for donkeys, get bums on seats.

Can't agree there mate. The RFL could have spent 50p promoting this series and it still should have sold out - twice. We had the garbage crowds for teams in the play offs, which almost certainly wouldn't happen in other sports, so I can only surmise that yes, RL fans are a lot lazier than other sports fans.
A big element of this is the 'pay on the gate' culture we have on RL, where a lot of people don't buy tickets and some don't end up bothering if it rains etc etc. Get everyone in the habit of 'buying a ticket or miss out' and things may change....but I wouldn't hold my breath.

I like the cut of your jib, a lot of RL fans are simply lazy, and then feel they have a right to moan with 'poor crowds' and 'poor national exposure' bla bla bla. The simple way to beat this, is buy a ticket and go to the game, this game (being 25k) should have sold out weeks ago.
The only problem i have is that the rfl didn't market the tournament, but in the end, all genuine RL fans knew the tournament was happening.

| Part of the problem is in 30 odd years we havent been able to win anything worth winning in a competition between 3 contestants
We have as little chance this time
Add that to the recession , our pathetic performances in the WC , a losing of interest among non SL fans and a general club before country attitude
We are a small regional sport and will remain a small regional sport
Also we will lose , heavily

| If this doesnt sell out then its a kick in the knackers for the RFL who've priced this VERY cheaply and may not do so again.
I simply can't listen to anymore of these excuses, completely shocking.
We couldn't even beat the worst australian team in history in 2003 that had about 18 first choice players missing (Craig Wing in the centre? wtf??), never mind one of the best backlines to have ever graced the sport.
We've never had a chance of winning a series and regardless we should be there supporting our country.
Im there, you all best get your a$$es down there or you can feck right off moaning on here, we've as much chance of winning a one off game as ever.
Completely pathetic from what I thought were the most passionate fans, in one fell swoop justifies the complete lack of any national media.

Good that it has done that but that is hardly a major achievement though is it? It should have sold out weeks or months ago from RL fans alone, never mind any casual fans.
We have to change this casual 'pay on the gate' approach or it will be like this forever.
