| Ill be a bit different.
Fullback Cudjoe
Wings: Fox & Hall
Centres: Shenton & Atkins
Standoff: Mcguire
Scrum Half: Sam Tomkins
Props: Peacock & Graham
Hooker Moore
2nd Row: Ellis & O'Loughlin
Loose forward: Burgess
Subs: Roby, Morley,Carvell, Wild
Ive gone for Cudjoe as we need to have an attacking fullback. Briscoe just doesnt cut it in that department. Granted Cudjoe is inexperienced in this position but he does have heeps of pace and i cant think of anyone else with sufficient quality or gametime.
Wings speak for themselves. Two best in SL this year. Pace on one side power on the other.
Centres we need some pace in the backline. Gleesons form just hasnt been good enough and for me he is too slow at international level. SHenton and Atkins represent our only other viable choices.
Mcguire is in there because he was the only half who showed up against the Aussies and kiwis in the World cup.
Leon Pryce for me both downunder and this season has given every impression of being a flat track bully. Looks great when a team is well ontop, but when a side needs to dig deep he goes into his shell.
Tomkins offers more creativity than Burrows, and while he is inexperienced i cant think of anyone else to slot in there. Especially with fact Myler hasnt played for 3 months.
Peacock and Graham are the 2 best props in SL, they pick themselves
Moore has been form hooker this season and offers great organisation at dummy half and also a kicking game option
Ellis and OLoughlin are 2 tackling machines in the back row.
Burgess has the size and mobility to play like a modern day loose forward eg 3rd Prop.
Subs pick themselves. Roby for impact hooker. Morley for impact from bench along with Carvell his Wire colleague. Wild would be fourth sub as he can cover in backs if injuries occur while also giving us more mobility out wide later in the game.

| Suprised at so many selecting Atkins, his form has been nowhere near international class this year - and I have seen just about every game this term. It seems that even on here players are 'selected' based on reputation/past glories/media hype etc.
If anybody was to get a look in from Wakey I reckon it would be Snitchy, I know many will laugh but he has been our best forward by a country mile this year.

| I'm absolutely staggered by the amount of people who haven't put James Graham in their starting lineup? Graham isn't an impact prop, so having him on the bench doesn't add anything.
Graham and Peacock to start, with Morley from the bench would be better.

| Cudjoe's best position is fullback, he is just on the wing till Brett Hodgson is finished with fullback at the Giants.
He is a very good player.

Its the backs that are the weakest yes but players like Tomkins, Shenton, Fox, and Briscoe will be the heart of the team and with a few more years experience it wont look as weak.
I also think McGuire and Tomkins would compliment eachother immensely, with Sams creativity and McGuires support play they could create some awesome rugby to watch.

| Quote ="bramleyrhino"Not sure that I'd select Senior "sadly". He's shown some outstanding form this year.
It speaks volumes for the so called "future" of England's three quarter line. Senior has taken both Atkins and Shenton to school in recent months.'"
If Senior had produced the form he has been this season a couple of years ago he's be a cert for the number 4. Sadly, he only does it a couple of times a season.
And Briscoe 'sadly', because he's the best of a bad bunch. If only we had someone like Australia's 7th choice FB. He'd still be better than what we have in that position.

| Whats the point, we have a post like this every other week.
Save it til the GF comes to a close, where certain players will have either stood up to be counted or dismissed properly.
Dont see the point in this now, especially when some of the players being overlooked play for the top clubs for a reason and have been there a while.

| I'd really hope we move on from the paceless, zero attacking threat but 'solid' full back mentality. If Cudjoe looks anything like as a full back he'd be a better bet than Wellens or Briscoe. That says a lot about how poor our full back choices are. The shame is Smith leaving for Yawnion, as he'd be my choice. If you want a left-field option I'd go for Pryce, who at least offers some threat running the ball.
Will Myler be fit for the end of the season or is he gone? If so I suppose Tomkins would get the vote. Having said that, we could do worse than a Brough/Robinson-type organiser at half back.
Threequarters are a bit of a write-off for me, although Hall at least physically has a bit of size and speed.

| Cudjoe is a quality fullback, and in a year or two Michael Lawrence will be a top notch centre too (well he already is actually, but needs to be given a shot in a big game)

I'd be tempted to include Pryce in the 17 somewhere because his pace and power has the potential to trouble teams up the middle if he hits form. IMO Burrow is an impact player at best at International level, and wouldn't be in my 17.

| You have no chance anyway but here are a few mistake you can not make.
Selecting Rob Burrow...at all.
Selecting Roby, at all.
Selecting Pryce anywhere other than wing or fullack.
Selecting Gleeson at all.
Selecting O'Loughlin at all.
Selecting Paul Wellens at all.

Though i'm not the original poster the 3 that immediatley come to mind are sinfield, purdham and flannery. Anderson and fulton are probably on a par, i would like to put weterman up there too, but since his head injury i think he's lost a bit of confidence on the field.
Edit-wild too he's been very impressive at 13 this year.
