| Saints fans didn't turn up in great numbers as there was a sense of deja vu about it all. A lot of people will have not bothered in order to try to save some money as we've had two expensive major finals every year for ages.
Huddersfield should have brought more fans, but we should focus on the positives and say it was probably up 100% on their showing at the 2003/4 (?) semi at the same ground.
Huddersfield didn't take any sizeable amount of fans to Twickers for the final in their previous appearance. There were no big sections of their supporters and whilst they were obviously there, there was no way there were any more than a few thousand. Again though this year they will take significantly more.
I think it's time the Huddersfield public paid Mr Davy back for his efforts at the club. From the perspective of an outsider they seem to have done a miraculous job in transforming the club and I hope the fans get off their backsides and pack out not only Wembley but the Galpharm for the last few home games and for the future. The board and team there deserve a 10,000 average.

Where is that taken from though? People who bought tickets with a Huddersfield postcode? Or 13,000 bought from the club?

thats kinda my point about saints fans, success is normal to them so therefore its not worth bothering about anymore, but to the likes of wire and fartown fans its something to saviour.
as for us, yes i agree we should get more people coming to watch us, but the people of huddersfield are very lethargic where rugby is concerned, preferring the local football teams of chelsea, nal, liverpool etc to the local rugby team.
but with a wembley win and hopefully a grand final appearance too, we may finally have cracked it.
at twickenham it was a funny arrangement really, we had clumps of supporters behind the sticks in the building site, another 3 clumps to the right of that stand in 3 tiers and the same on the other side, i dont think we had more than 1,000 in any one part of the stadium, unlike saints fans,we were spread out all over the place it seemed.

| The Bulls crowd boom was kick-started by them making back to back Wembley visits at the start of SL in 1996 and 1997.
I think the same could now happen to the Giants and that their crowds will boom next season. They deserve to.

hopefully yes, the bulls appear to be a spent force right now and maybe all those bulls fans who crammed huddersfield bus station for the number 363 buses to bradford will now get down to the galpharm and follow their local team in search of the glory they found up odsal way

| Jesus, we get a final with two 'different' teams in for a change and all some can do is question how big the attendance will be and "how many will they take"
Personally I don't giver a flying f*** about how many supporters each team take. I prefer to watch the game not the crowd.

Don't you find it a little hypocritical that you are dissing Bradford fans for not supporting their "local rugby team" and Huddersfield football fans for not supporting their "local football team" when your signature would suggest you support Sheffield Wednesday (who are not as local as Bradford)?

| I think people on this thread need to stop being so touchy about the attendance. It is a thread about the attendance, get over it. We are allowed to discuss it. It is an interesting poiint to some people. It isn't a reflection on the game, but that isn't the point of the subject. We have a million threads about the game, so let people talk about the attendance if they feel like it.
Huddersfield fans didn't turn up in amazing numbers, that was evident. Saints packed the South Stand, half the East stand, and some standing in the West Stand (Hudds stand). No idea about the North as that's where I was sat, but was clearly empty in big chunks of areas.
Of course, Warrington is right on St Helens' door step so they should maybe have brought more. Had the game been played at a ground similar distance to Hudds instead, what do people think the attendance would have been?
And the Wire/Wigan game clearly should have been played at a bigger ground.

Giants fans were in the West Stand, 3 blocks in the main ( North stand) and 2 full blocks in the East stand. The only stand solely for saints was the south stand.
I would have thought about 3800 from the Giants and about 6200 from Saints.

| Apparently our official ticket sales was 4000. The top of SL & recent triple CC winners took 6500 at most.
Why do people pick on our [increasing attendances?
20 years ago we weren't getting anywhere near 4 figure crowds. For how many years have Saints been at the top?
Either start picking on sucessful clubs' attendances or, more sensibly, as some people at saying - WATCH THE GAME NOT THE CROWD.

| I would have thought that having beaten Sts people in hudds would be far more optimistic about their chances of actually winning the cup than they were when they got there to face Sts, who seemed to have virtually no problem winning the final for the last few years. That may make a big difference in the number of Hudds fans looking to attend.

about a quarter of the West stand was Saints fans.
according to the official Saints website, Saints sold 3 times as many as Huddersfield - which suggests a split of about 2.5k and 7.5k.

Only 2.5k?! We took 6000 in 2006 when we were an NL1 side.
