| Think it was in the last seconds. Hull vs Saints in the 2001 playoffs. Tommy Martyn's head was in touch (it had paint on it FFS!) and the ref said nothing. Game carried on, two or three tackles later Stankovich (I think) goes over for the winning try.

If we won that game, the whole of Rugby League would be totally different know, perhaps? Test series still going strong?'"

| Andy Goodway for Wigan against Saints in the 1990 cup semi-final at Old Trafford.
If Loughlin had converted the first half tries we'd have been well clear at HT instead of just 12-6,but as it was it was 14-14 with 2 minutes to go and then Hanley made a midfield break and threw an outrageous forward pass inside to Goodway(missed by Mr R.Whitfield) who galloped away under the posts for the clincher.
It was right in the middle of Wigan's dominant period of RL and to beat them you had to be at your 100% best to get near them so to get so close and lose was gut-wrenching to say the least.
To cap the day off a happy Wiganer mooned our dejected coach party on the way out of the coach park!

| Not a try, but Richard Agar's drop goal to win the 2000 NFP Grand Final 13-12 for Dewsbury
Luckily, we've scored a load of last minute tries/drop goals in dramatic circumstances, but not conceded too many.

| Going back a long time, but the incident that I am still pi$$ed about was being knocked out of the cup at the QF stage by Leigh at Craven Park in 83, the ref gave them a penalty in the last minute for an illegal play the ball, which was amazing as he had let about a hundred go during the rest of the game. We were on for a third Wembley on the trot

| It didnt break my heart, but it was amazing to watch.
Bradford Vs Wigan in the playoffs...2007 I think it was?
Bradford were cleaning house at Odsal but Wigan came back and posted up 28 odd points courtesy of a masterpiece display by Trent Barratt!

| Quote ="Leaguefan"Cougars v Warrington in the Regal trophy (I think).
Couugars were winning with seconds to go.
Wire were getting near the line but no matter what the Cougar defence held them out.
The they gave the ball to a player in an impossible situation.
There was no way the player could score, the number of defenders was immense and only a genius player could get through.
Stand up Jonathon Davies.
He had no right to score that try, the defence was that good but he did. He jinked, weaved and showed quick acceleration leaving the defenders grasping fresh air.
No one else could have scored that try and even though it cost the Cougars the game the applause from both sets of supporters was brilliant.
One of the best players ,IMHO, ever to play the game.'"
Outstanding moment of brilliance by Jiffy, backed up by the fact that we got a penalty just before that play and he kicked it about 80 meters to set up the position. Some games are won by one player and that certainly was one of them.

| GB V Australia at the City of Manchester Stadium in something like 2004.
Opening match of the tri-nations, and on the back of the test series the year before where we also lost all the matches in the last minute. We took a 10-0 lead at half time; Aus battled back and literally scored on the last play.
It was a case of 'here we go again'. Still, we had a good up afterwards in Mary Ds.

| Daylight Robbery
May 22nd 1971.
Wigan v Saints at Station Road Swinton in the Championship Final.
Wigan were leading 12 - 11 in the last minutes and Saints threw the ball back for John Walsh to try a drop goal from close to half way. It missed by a mile but bounced over the Wigan fullback Colin Tyrers head and Billy Benyon touched down.
He was at least 5 yards in front of Walsh when the ball was kicked, but Eric Lawrenson the ref from Warrington gave the try and to make matters worse Coslett kicked the goal.
Oh for a video ref.
Benyon came into the Stork pub in Billinge a few months later. I asked him (no I told him) if he was offside. He winked, then laughed. "The ref said I wasn't." was his reply.
