We paid 200k for gleeson in 2004 as a 24/25 year old at he top of his game. 100k for someone who's 29 next month and in not so good form is just a great bit of business for Wire. On his day Gleeson is Britains best centre, but those days don't come along everyday.

Comparing Gilmour to Gleeson is ludicrous. You don't see twenty threads a month on here detailing his social activities and he never gives anything less than 100% on the field - which can't be said of Gleeson.

The signing seems to have fustrated you more than anything.

Gleeson blew hot and cold at Warrington. Maybe Noble knows how to get the best out of him. Certainly a good move for the player if only for the 'Tri-nations + France'.

It was the model professional bit about Gilmour that I was on about. Ask anyone from the Wakefield / Dewsbury areas about him.

Gleeson going to wigan can only strengthen them, he's one of the countries best players, but he relies on halves to get him the ball in good positions, that will continue to be a problem at Wigan like it is at Wire.

Hardly, although Tim Smith hasn't been firing he hasn't had good centres either side of him. Now that he does it will be interesting to see if he can pick his performances up, he had 2 very good centres at Parra and hopefully he can give the same service to our centres like he did to them. We can only wait and see how this develops I suppose.
