| Catalans have shown they are still top 8 contenders for me.
Toulouse and Toronto are both looking strong enough to gain promotion.

| Put this to bed . With Chorley John . A verified user .. Not one of Johns alleged aliases requests him to send a letter from Carcassonne stamped with the carcassonne timbres to another forum user . Any takers to challenge John ?

Hitting their straps huh...
They had a mediocre display against a below par Hudds side last week. Got found out again that Crapalan is just a mediocre championship side.

| Epic Dummy Spit from Guash who vented to the assembled media after the Wigan game.....
:
"We have to walk away, we can't do this anymore, we have to let them play between themselves (referring to the English sides). They do what they wanna do, this year, they keep sending young refs to Brutus, don't tell me this isn't on purpose."
"We get penalised twice as much as them in the last 30 minutes. They're never offside, video refs awards them tries that the field ref refused. I'm furious"
London used to be the most penalised team in SL, so I suppose that "them there frenchies" would take over the mantle.....although I'm puzzled by what he means by "We have to walk away, we can't do this anymore"?.......

And yet it was an inexperienced ref that didn't realise Mickey Mac basically cheated in order to earn the win against us earlier on the season. Swings and roundabouts etc....

Assuming you live in the UK , you will have met more British people than you have French people so it kind of outweighs your opinion .
And given you don’t even know me outweighs it even more .

Given that he is most likely from Castleford, he is probably right that he has met far more horrible British people than French number 1. Because Castleford is full of horrible people and number 2. The population of Castleford very rarely leave the town, therefore very unlikely they will come across many French people.
Now if you travel a few miles down the road to sunny Wakefield, it is a very different story

| Just to bring this thread back on topic.
I think the team is ok, certainly better squad than we had last year, I think its the coaching and method of play to blame.
Most of us like to see Catalans play with a bit of flair and keen to throw the ball about a bit, which goes against the coaches philosophy.

I do like to watch the dragons, one of my favourite RL tries was scored by Catalans in the game against St Helens where Scott Dureau kicked the winner from the touchline but I just don't get any enjoyment out of watching them at the moment but I would prefer for them to stay around.

It`s the whole club culture, I think getting someone in like Brian Smith would be a masterstroke for Catalan - Not just a coach but someone who can turn a whole club around and establish ground works in every area of the club. Turned the Bulls into a powerhouse and kick started Hull FC. Didn`t work out at Wakefield and he came out and said that he could not do what he wanted to do without the budget. From what i have seen Catalan have plenty of money in the bank so could be an option.

Leaving aside the bigotry against French people, you should look in the mirror sometime, given your personal attacks on certain other posters..
France has the best food in the world and some of the most scenic rural areas in Europe. It would be wonderful if beautiful Avignon could join Super League after Toulouse, so as to give the chance for English rugby league fans to savour the delights of life in the southeast of France as well as the southwest. In fact Toulouse and Avignon between them offer a tremendous selection of great French cuisine.

Can't they just visit these beautiful places, or do they need to be in SL just so they can get a few hundred visitors every 2 weeks?

It would make men of les Avignonaise were they able to sample some decent English cuisine. Who knows, a banquet of lobby might even wring a performance from Catalans.

Personally I prefer Italy on both counts. All my opinion of course but to claim something is the "best" is a bold statement.

| Off topic again then...
Sigh.
For me I only see a coaching change. The Millard try at Saints the poster a page or so above alluded to was brilliant but is fading in the memory.
With the right plays this side could excite with Mead and Gigot at the heard of some unstructured play. Chaos plays we call them. I just don't see McNamara playing that brand of rugby.
