Rob Loew signed for Wigan at the same time as Mordt. I think he was the Springbok captain at the time

It doesn't, I've proved it doesnt a number of times. The game is not played there unless someone can make a bit of cash....then union players have a game of League and fade back to rugby union.

| My mate Darragh was a born and bred saffa who played scrum-half for our university side for 3 years.
One of our best players in that time too.

| Quote ="ali"On another note, I notice [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andy_MarinosAndy Marinos[/url is the current head of South African Rugby Union. I thought he was South African, but apparently not.'"
Lots of Zimbabweans (like Bob Skinstad) and Namibians (percy Montgomery) moved to South Africa and played for the Springboks. IIRC those countries were once all one. So Marinos perhaps grew up in SA.
Quote Anyway, he did play for the Bulldogs during the Super League war!'"
Your Sharks probably had the best in Tiann Strauss, if he had been at another club (i.e. that wasn't 2nd in the League) he would have played more FG.
Quote Closer to home Skolars have Rubert Jonker, who has played plenty of first team but can't this year due to the new visa restrictions. Richard Lowe who has now gone home was one of Skolars best in 2007 & 2008.'"
What are the restrictions on them? That's sad.
Quote ="changa"i wouldn't mind signing that springbok winger . he would be a great signing'"
Most players in the current Springbok squad (other than props John Smit and Jannie Du Plessis, and reserve hooker Chiliboy Ralapelle, who are probably too big) would be fantastic in RL.
* Brian Habana and JP Pietersen would be speedy wingers.
* Francois Steyn and Ruan Pienaar would be electric at fullback or in the halves.
* Fourie Du Preez is probably the best RU player in the world ATM, and would be a dominant dummy-half.
* Spies, Kankowski and 'Beast' Mtawarira would be explosive secondrowers or props.

| Currently in the NRL.. jarrod saffy is South African.
And for Sheffield, Nick Turnbull once played for the South AFrica Wildogs... a UK based saffy side, along with ex-skolars like mario du toit.

| This is why I always laugh when the talk comes up about a "merged game", with "merged rules" and how much money it would make.
I can just see the reaction of the SARU when the RFU and ARU approach them asking if they are interested in changing the game to include some league rules...
