You need some money behind you to not only get players but keep the talent you bring through.

Best coach in the world would struggle with the broncos squad.

With such a weak squad, Rob Powell needs to get his selections right and that means dropping the likes of Chad Randall, hopefully Dan Sarginson will be fit enough soon and will bring some talent and someone like Ben Bolger can add some enthusiasm.

London seem to have a huge pack and their tactics were route 1 down the middle , and it seemed to be working for the 1st 15 mins , however Salford seem to have stolen Saints attacking playbook ( it has tatoos and doesn't blink)

Powell, assuming they can get someone else in, London are going downhill fast. Not being too disrespectful to Salford, but they shouldn't be getting stuffed by so many against such an average team. Its gonna be a long season.

He is British right? We need some British coaches working at the top of the sport. Broncos status is secured, where better for him to grow and develop? Isn't that what licensing is all about? Same with Betts, he came from union and was well regarded there, let's just send him back there eh? Especially if he has potential.........

I guess you do not pay to watch his side every week. Trust me, it isn't worth it. Let him build his potential in the Championship, that is where they should learn.

Simmons is under serious pressure now. If we lose against the Bulls on Saturday, we then have Leeds, Wire and Wigan in successive weeks - not sure the Board could cope with the pressure of 7 games without a win going into Good Friday.

If Simmons were for the axe, who is available for the Saints gig?

Someone told me on Sunday that Simmons is off at the end of the season, to be replaced by Nathan Brown; is that a new rumour or has it been reported elsewhere?

Oh please let this be true - it'll be nice for Brown to take over a team of underacheiving chokers rather than having to create one himself

I'd seen it in either League Express or League Weekly (cant remember which one!) a few weeks ago. Just a rumour more than anything I think though.
Id be dissappointed in Saints if they sacked Simmons so quickly though. He got them to a Grand Final and surely clubs must have learnt from Leeds last season and at least see how the season pans out. Saints will pick up IMO. I don't think their recruitment has been great the last few years but they've still a decent squad and will be there or there abouts at the end of the season.

no mention of Agar thats a first ! he does have a 3 year deal so maybe thats a factor
