was the right decision - you don't pay to televise 4 days of a major sporting tournament and then miss the climax - how many times do programmes get altered when a football game goes to extra time for instance?

Can't understand why anyone is complaining about this.

It simply isn't acceptable to cut off the end of any sporting coverage on TV - even if the result is (virtually) assured. The BBC made absolutely the right call, and no live RL was missed as a result.

Escape out of the confines of your own little worlds and consider what you are suggesting here people.

Bad scheduling by the Beeb but it would be ridiculous to switch away from the golf, as rubbish as it is, delayed kick off, a few people missed the build up to the semi, no big deal.

Golf is not, never has been and never will be a sport.

There are two simple tests for what does and does not qualify to be a sport:

1) Is it played in long pants?

2) Does it require the subjective view of a judge or panel of judges to decide the scoring (and ultimate winner)?

If the answer to either of the above is "yes" then it quite clearly is not a sport.

No matter how bad Waldorf & Statler are on Sky, they are nowhere near as dire as Ray French and Jonathan Davies. It would be difficult to choose a more inept, clueless pair than them. FFS French was past it when I was a lad and I'm bloody 60!

Our sport has been well shafted by the BBC and a majority of people on this thread don’t give a damn. The forefathers of rugby league will be turning in their grave at how passive we’ve become when dealing with such matters. Imagine if this same attitude was predominant at the time when players from working class backgrounds needed broken time payments. We wouldn’t even have two codes of rugby

The fact that it has chosen not to determine bouts by knock-outs would suggest otherwise but the fact that it qualifies under rule number one and partially qualifies under rule number two means I can give boxing dispension. Boxing is also not boring, unlike other games and pastimes that are played in long pants.
