Don`t think many Wigan fans would be too unhappy.
Maybe Eseh?
Or Mulhern would be one of the best domestic signings we could make imo.

| Think that`s a bit of a risk.
I reckon we need to replace him as it gives us options not to mention cover for injuries/bans.

Think it would be a very risky move to play the "practically a new signing card" in Holroyd's case. You'd think Momorovski departing would allow enough cap (utilising a marquee spot) to land Sivo. Getting rid of Sangare, who in fairness has been very poor, would once again leave us looking light in numbers in a position that almost everybody agreed needed significant strengthening. Cannot let that happen again.

I agree, just don’t think we’ll see a replacement.
I could be wrong, but we’re talking about replacing 5th or 6th placed prop, the options of any real quality will be very limited.

| I think if Momo and Sangare go and Sivo' wage is half covered by his former team then we should have some cap free.
Oledski
Palasia
Holroyd
Lisone
Jenkins
Isn't bad. I'd be happier with another starting quality prop but I think just getting those two off the books is good work

| TNW is still here isn't he? I think he'll prove too small in the long term, but as sixth choice he'd be OK. The one that needs to improve massively (assuming Holroyd can get fit) is Lisone. He is way down on what we need from a quota player on last year's form, and needs to show he can cut out mistakes and have an impact against better teams, not just come on and batter everyone when we're already winning.

| I think you need balance in the front row. We used to have two absolute beasts in Peacock and Leuleui who were the starters, with Bailey and Kirke who were simply there to hold the fort while the other two had a rest.
Our balance in FR can't be that heavily weighted on two players anymore. It looks like both Palasia and Jenkins are in the mould of bigger minute props. Palasia seems to have decent hands, and those three alongside Mik and Holroyd (if he can stay fit) could create good consistency across our interchange without loosing intensity.
I'm hopefully Lisone being limited to 15 minute high energy stints will free him up to do his role better. Sangare when he first joined also seemed like a decent enough, shorter minute impact player. I can't understand the desire to have ever made him into a starting FR.

Totally agree. Also you never know with Sanagare with his age and a full pre season under Brad Arthur. He's still got the potential to mature yet..

| One of the reasons I was optimistic last season was that a 'fit Holroyd' would feature regularly and be pushing alongside Oledski for an England place. It is all the more worrying if we're pinning our hopes on him again. A real Sangare replacement would be ideal, notwithstanding the two forward additions made so far. After all, Holroyd played less in 2024 and when he did play looked worse than Sangare, IMO.

| I said after we announced Connor that if we could swap Mom for Sivo or a good quality NRL centre and then Sangare for Byrne or Eseh that I think that would be a decent off season.
I think Sivo and Eseh are the most likely to come in

| I think releasing Sangare and not replacing him is asking for trouble. We need to be consistently fielding a large front row each week and if Holroyd's availability is as per normal, then this will be very difficult.

| Blease delivering the squad turnover at a faster rate than we could reasonably have expected. Other than Martin hard to disagree with all the departing players.
If Mom goes as expected and Sivo comes in only final piece is if we have any cap left for another forward.
Sangare was 6th choice in the props perhaps a big 16 stone plus back row would give us more balance as other than Gannon we lack size in that area!

| Well with Sangare , Goudemand, Ruan, Hudson already gone, and Momirovski soon to be announced, it seems that you can actually shift on contracted players if you want to. Blease is doing a great job so far, well done Blaster!

In fairness Smith did much the same. His big mistake was not bringing in better replacements. I know Donaldson and Martin were not released but when you add them it's a lot departures in the pack. I believe we must act to replace Sangare with a better player or be doomed to living with another average bunch of forwards when injuries strike. Hopefully Blease recognises that too.

Yeah, great start so far it has to be said. They were being very clever weren't they saying hardly any movement expected this offseason a few weeks back..
It needed doing, and more work is needed over the next 12 months if we are to get back to title winning contenders but it's a good start. I suspect this season's poor show was the final straw in terms of a lot of patience around the club from the SLT..

| Mulhern wouldn’t come back to Leeds to be a bit part player when he’s a very important player where he’s currently at, although I would be very pleased if that were to happen, you are more than likely looking at a Eseh Jr type.

Maybe, maybe not. Most people on here were happy with the last round of Smith signings apart from Frawley.
I am not questioning any of the departures so far aside from Martin, and I appreciate we have to start somewhere. But successful sides are seldom built on wholesale changes like this. If they were, Warrington would be 10x SL champions by now.
My hope is that there is sustained improvement so that making the play-offs is a minimum expectation rather than the focus of the last third of the season. I would also hope that a few younger players are successful in winning first team places during the season - so that less drastic surgery on the squad is needed in a year's time and recruitment can focus on a smaller number of quality acquisitions/replacements.
