Whatever your view the point us he did not go to the video ref for the most important moment of the WC so far. The question that has to be asked is - why? What is the point of using video if it is not to enhance the integrity of the game? As I said - cheated.

The way I’m looking at it is that if it had have been the other way around with us going for a final second win, would Tonga or anyone else been bothered about us? Would they hell, so stuff it, the scoreboard says we won. Job done!

If you go back a few plays you'll see that the ball was taken from the England winger in similar circumstances.The ref didn't blow on that occasion so he could hardly blow up when England do the same.

He wasn't consistent - gave a knock on against Tonga on second tackle earlier in game when they were a few yards from our line when Tom Burgess clearly reefed it in a 3 man tackle.

But England didn't get the ball back so he didn't have to rule whether it was or knock or not.

Given how far offside Tonga were all match and the extras in the tackle to try slow us down I thought the ref was really very lenient on them.
They have a side that can improve, bit more thought/structure on top of the power/flair and they could be a real force in the game.
Whilst our tackling for the most part was outstanding our attack was limited, I honestly can't see us winning the final.

Thought Tonga were sometimes way offside too, but to be fair you play to the refs whistle.

i'm delighted that we're in the final but i'm raging about us being 20-0 ahead with 7 minutes remaining and ending up perhaps very fortunate not to have lost. i don't know the rules so i can't comment on whether it should have been a try or not, but going by what some of you (plus Wilkin) are saying, it wouldn't have been a massive surprise if the try had been given. it's inexcusable that we put ourselves in that position in the first place. i hope they don't but i'm worried that the Aussies are going to blow us apart again next week.

Yes but Oz have improved more than us since that first game. Today we showed we can still blow a winning lead. Against Oz if we were to get to a winning position it's unlikely to be anywhere near 20 points given our predictable attack. I think Oz will take a lot of confidence from our performance today. Same old.

England were great for 70+ minutes but, that ending was like Hull KR v SAlford all over again and damn close to the same "impossible" outcome.
Really happy we are in the final but, cant see past a 20 point Aussie victory.
