It'll be the first Rugby Union game I'd love to watch on live TV just to see how the hell they try to bull it up and sell the game. It should be comedy gold.

Sadly I'll have to settle for Old Trafford. I hope for the opportunity to pee my sides at some Union lovers in the day though.

The rfl need to start offering those idiot union fans discounts on grand final tickets, they are gonna be in Manchester anyway, might as well go down a sport that is actually decent and you know, entertaining!

Prefect opportunity to attract new people to the sport as we are all always banging on about, if we cant show that league is better than union in this situation then God help us all haha

Well even though Wales have qualified they're losing players through injury left, right and centre so will probably go out in the quarters to South Africa.

Scotland will get knocked out by the Aussies in the quarters.

So that leaves all "home nation" hopes with Ireland. Could make the semi final if they finish top of their group, lose to France though and they'll finish 2nd and will also get dumped out at the quarters by New Zealand.

How ridiculous do all those Biblical level, Jingoistic, self praising pathetic attempts at Jerusalem level poetry passing themselves off as TV adverts look now!

I got home last night and switched the Tv on just as Inverdale gloomily announced that "the House of Lancaster has fallen". Outstanding!

If things aren't desperate enough for England yawnion I thought noooo they are gonna blame farrels influence in picking players and Burgess's premature inclusion as pivotal reasons for englands demise (even for my over cynical tone I thought they wouldn't stoop)But by God I opens that tabloid excuse the daily mail and lo and behold,Farrell under pressure named by current player for having to much influence,basically he gagged Lancaster to pick burgess over Burrell which as we all know was the reason England lost to both wales and Oz.Oh just reinforce the point a nice picture of the moment burgess high tackle ruined it all.You can't make 5hit up

For those of us not wishing to see more RL defections to RU the treatment of Burgess (never a centre and not his fault for being picked as one) is actually a plus.

All the same a great event, pubs rocking, country bought into the event/sport, back pages full of it, massive crowds.....only something we could dream off
