Won't happen due to the Fed trained rules. Clubs can only have a maximum of 5 players who were trained outside Europe and have to have at least 5 (I think) who have come through their own youth system in their squad.

Totally agree. U23 or U21 with the option to play up to 3 overage players. I don't mind the duel reg but it should be restricted to players under the age of 21.

While relegation isnt normally seen as a positive, it is usually balanced by a promotion, a bit like all sports and matches, you win some, you lose some, and just for the record Leigh did not suffer any financial meltdown by virtue of their SL stint or the subsequent relegation

Not sure why people are having a go at the champ clubs, this was put to a vote to the existing SL clubs and they rejected the option of remaining a 14 team league.

I have to say as a Bulls fan with the size of our current squad, I am already sh*tting myself at the prospect of finishing in the bottom two.
I just don't see how it is even remotely fair for us to be operating on half of the funding as everyone else, in such a massively critical year that 2014 will now surely be for those clubs under threat.

It's alright no doubt we'll scrap P & R in 5 years time for something 'innovative'.

I think the decision to go to 12 teams is the right call. I don't think 14 teams has worked and the play-off system is a real farce.

The decision to go to P&R is something that I do not necessarily agree with though. I don't think there is the money in the sport to justify clubs at the bottom of the league busting a gut to merely survive. Also, I don't see how a Championship club is going to come up and be able to survive in the league in their first season. The gap is too big and I fear that this is a recipe for a disaster to do this now.

A revamped licensing system that is fair would have been my preferred option with 2 leagues of 12.

Cutting the league down to 12 isn't down to championships clubs and isn't dependent on any return to P+R. It is a cowardly regression of the game entirel down to the SL clubs and RFL Leadership.

I don't care who made the decision, it shouldn't have been allowed to happen. If SL clubs are incapable of doing what is best for the sport then they should not be involved in the decision-making process.

No, but it has allowed cowardice and self-interest to be sold as a return to traditional values (sadly a return to cowardice and self-interest is RL's traditional values, but it isn't a good thing)

You would have to think that London are one of the favourites for the chop, so what does this mean for RL in the capital? Are the RFL finally admitting defeat?

I just can't see P&R working. At all. Haven't the progression of Catalans and Widnes proved anything? Without licensing, both of these clubs would have been straight down to the championship after their first season in SL, and god knows how much longer it would have taken them to get to where they are now, if they ever managed to get there at all.

I just can't see this being anything but a complete disaster.
