So you agree with not just the top tier of British RL being packed with non GB qualified players but also the lower divisions as well ? Lets go the full way and invite the Australasian kids to come over and play in our youth leagues as well shall we ?
Is it any wonder we have so few talented players ?

I thought the reason Whitehavens signings have been blocked is that neither would qualify for a work permit under the new "goverment rules" not the RLs. I guess the players mentioned must all have reasons to qualify.
With regards Stirlingshire Saints nonscense, the NL clubs are businesses just like the SL clubs so why should they be treated differently. Is it to keep them at there own level.Very few SL players come from the NL clubs but though the SL academies so surely its the SL clubs that should be limited by your arguement. NL clubs can't compete for the best youngsters so your idea will not breed more internationals just limit the overseas signings in the NL. eg. more average british players. This is not intended to have a go at the NL but it annoys me when SLs failures are blamed on others.

without knowing the full reasoning behind each refusal - the RFL have no power over who gets a visa or not.

Typical of the attitude of the self preserving Lancashire/Yorkshire RL mafia. People like you were the reason Cumbria were excluded form the County championship all those years ago because we had the audacity to win it!
Why not?
We havent has top flight RL in Cumbria since SL began. We dont have the pool of players to draw from that teams from Yorkshire/Lancashire have and struggle to sign players due to geographical constraints.
We have neither the facilities or coaches locally to compete with 'heartland' clubs when training players or convincing them to remain in the county. For example Donaldson (Bradford) McNally (Hudds) Lunt (Hudds) and Mossop (Wigan) all Cumbrians who have moved or are signed up by current SL clubs.
Im not saying Cumbrian clubs should be allowed to sign 13 Aussies we should be cut some slack where some things are concerned.

The RFL dont have the ability to award visas but they do have the power to back players in their application which nigh on guarantees a visa being granted. For example the Celtic Crusaders '8' and Luisi at Barrow.

Firstly I am not blaming any failures on the National League. I also do not believe the clubs should be kept at their own level but frankly with the quality of imports being brought into the NL clubs, it isn't going to be raising any level either.
The fact very few British SL players come through the National Leagues is the exact reason for my point. How on earth is any British kid going to make any level if at a side not playing a high standard anyway, his progression is blocked by yet another average Antipoedean ? What sense does that make ?
The lower leagues should be used as a breeding ground for British talent and if a side reaches the standards of SL level with that talent, all the better.

Utter bull.
SL teams can have in some cases as many overseas players as they please where as lower league teams are restricted to 1 (Championship) and 2 (Chamionship1). Surely the amount of overseas players in SL is the main factor in 'blocking' British youngsters coming through.
There are no average antipodean players in the Championship, if they we're average why would clubs shell out to bring them over ?

Is this supposed to be taken seriously ?
In a competition which is of the standard of an average amateur game, there are no average foreigners ? Please......they are all average and shouldn't be taking the position from a British lad.
For your information, if it was upto myself, the quota would be limited a lot more in SL as well.

| Its not even worth getting involved fellas. You should know by now the rules are :
1. super league = closed shop unless you're invited
2. no club outside super league shall have the audacity to try and join the party, unless invited and flavour of the month
3. the point of existence of any club outside super league is to bring through and develop british players and give them to super league for free
4. If number 3 is not done we will have a league full of aussies and keep losing international matches - on the NL clubs heads' be it

A typical comment from another one eyed armchair supporter. The username says it all really.
To say the Championship is of the standard of the average amateur game is utter lunacy, if that was the case then all the amateur teams in the Challenge Cup would be playing at the weekend wouldnt they? Or have all but 1 been knocked out?
Stop drinking the Whisky mate.

The entire 17 at Leigh for the past two games have been GB-qualified (i'd say England, but McConnell and Watson are Scotland and Welsh internationals respectively). If anything, there are far more 'average' foreign players (in terms of being comparitive to other players at that level) knocking about in Super League than there are in the Championships. Certainly tended to be a case of quality, not quantity, when it comes to foreign players at this level (which, might I add, way above the "standard of an average amateur game", as Challenge Cup results would back up).
