26 years of professional RL, two professional teams, a host of amateur teams, loads of kids playing the game, home of the biggest game in RL (the Cup Final) for well over nearly 90 year – and the sooner we move back to hosting at least one international at Wembley the better.

What it doesn't need is some arrogant and patronising Ockers insisting that playing one of their domestic games between two teams 98% of Londoners have never heard of and have no interest in is something we need as a favour.

If you think you need to take Origin on the road to build interest in RL, have a look at WA, Victoria or Northern Territory first.

Anyway as TB said, the ARL need to look into expand the game of RL in their own country before looking at another, Western Australia especially!! I mean it is supposed to be the National Rugby League isn't it?

as ive said before, london and melbourne are pretty much the same wrt to RL.

the ARL took an origin to melbourne to promote the sport there, and guess what, it worked fabulously

they have taken a game to melbourne and it worked quite well.

the one held at telstra dome last year was really good for RL in melbourne

Good on them, so if it works in Melbourne why not branch out a bit further in Australia before looking at options like England, as i said I would have thought Western Australia would be a prime target to spread the game.

The tri-nations final was held in Leeds which is in RL heartland. Over here internationals carry far more weight than what the war of the roses did and what origin does, so people will be more willing to attend.

Origin may have boosted RL interest in Melbourne and helped to increase the Storms crowds, but that just will not work in London. For the vast majority of Londoners if it isn't soccer than they just don't want to know.

How is that avoiding the Topic?

No the Idea that an Australian thinks the sport of RL in England needs an Australian game for it to expand is where the arrogance comes in.

I watch the SoO and i will be lucky enough to see a fair few live in the next few years, but I cannot see what help it would do playing it at wembley, sure it would be a novelty and I'm sure it would sell a few tickets but as for expanding the game in this country i just cannot see how it would help.

because of the publicity he created for the leeds / souths game they got 13,000 or so as a crowd and they were on shows like the TOnight Show with Jay Leno

its something different that RL cant offer the english public, and its something unique to english sport.

so the novlety would be a big attraction.

the fact that it is very entertaining will also help more people become interested in RL.
