This thread is going to erupt if Leigh don't get "chosen" as the 12th club.

There are going to be 7 disappointed clubs, all of whom can put up a decent case as to why it should be them.
You could certainly see this ending up in court.

On the plus side, for those who are not chosen, their chances of a play off spot and ultimately promotion through the usual method, slightly improve as one of their main promotion rivals will already be in SL.

Not with me mate. I have stated more than once that i don't mind us earning that spot,and just recently i said we don't have a quality enough squad to compete in SL, Well not yet anyway. For me atm, it looks like we have put a squad together to do well,and have a good chance in the championship to earn promotion, and even that's not a gimme. Anyway, I enjoyed my Sunday's ont lash with a game of rugby thrown in.

I'd suggest that we take into account that whoever may be promoted to SL 2021, the end of that season is the end of the TV deal.

Who knows wether or not Superleague will go down to 10 clubs?.

Who knows wether P & R will be still undertaken the way it is now?

Lots of optimistic Leigh fans around but their owner has already acknowledged that Fev (or London) should be chosen before them.

Don’t know what’s happening with Toronto. If anybody has any further info I’d appreciate it. Is the new owner willing to pole millions in to avoid relegation, especially after seeing what’s happened this year

Leigh have a good squad and no doubt if they got the nod, would add 3-4 good quality players. I just think whoever goes up, it will be a struggle. Needless to say, as a widnes fan id love nothing more than to be back in the big time.

We can only go with the system that is in place.
Speculation on whether P/R will remain is irrelevant to the "gifting" of a SL spot for next season.

There's a lot of water to pass under the proverbial bridge before the end (or the start) of next season.
Unless we see some meaningful attendances back in sporting arenas, P/R may be the least of any of our worries.

Whichever team is chosen to enter the promised land need to be chosen fairly, the decision makers need to be transparent in the way they chose who goes up.

Roy, i think they already know who they want in, They'll create a criteria to suit,and justify their decision. Just my opinion though.

It might just be me that is baffled by this but would someone please explain what happened with mad uncle Derek at Leigh. After pumping in so much money and building a formidable squad, he decided he couldn't do it anymore and sort of walked away? Then he changed his mind and is happy to finance it all again? What was that all about and are Leigh fans confident that it wouldn't happen again?

I was thinking this. Hope he hanging all hopes on his finances supporting Leigh in SL. And if they fail he then takes another back seat

I don’t think he walked away, I remember reading his announcement on the Leigh website. He virtually conceded the season due to Toronto pumping millions in and buying their way to SL, but stated he would remain on board for the future.

Transparent? No chance

The independent panel probably will be transparent.
However, the decisions taken on how to asses each club will decide the lucky "winner".
They will merely rubber stamp a pre arranged club.

Robert Elstone just said on Sky its mainly about the fan base and what that brings to SL. Bradford were best supported team outside SL and had most away support. As a Bulls fan I hope they don't pick us as we are not ready for a step up to SL.

If it was about fans then Toronto would have been a certainty so we know whatever Elstone says is bs.

He literally just threw London and Tolouse under the bus. Elstone is a M62 die hard! He has no desire to see the game grow beyond the M62. Hearing him talk about clubs who can show good business plans and growth is hilarious. Ask the same question to most SL clubs and they would fail miserably. Clubs have had no growth for decades!!

What if Salford or K.R (or both) go bang in the next 5 months leading up to the proposed or estimated April restart ? I stress that I don't know they will or have any inside info or friends in high places.

Salford have rumours abound that they are a about to enter very difficult financial turmoil & K.R's CEO/Owner is rumoured to want out. What if both find they can't make it to Super League 2021 ?

A very serious restructure *most likely full Licensing* may be deployed to save or at least stabilise Super League ?

Very interested to read the thoughts of other fans.

There could be a myriad of issues before the beginning of next season and I do worry for Salford.
My own view is that if KR cant find an investor, their Chairman will go round the block again.
Cant seen him allowing a club that he's invested in so heavily, suddenly go to the wall.
