Sa'u was not much more than an exaggerated flop. If it wasn't for the sending off it would hardly have been commented on. Did Tasi have a clenched fist to the jaw that required LMS to leave the pitch for good?

Hilarious, he's good but he isn't all that special, 1/2 a season and he's better than Jamie Lyon, truly deluded nonsense, you need to give your head a shake.
There are at least a dozen English players that have graced SL that the coke head Barba isn't fit to lace boots for.

Your correct. People talking him up as the best ever import are crazy in my mind.. same with Lyon as well though for me. Has great ability and is a top player but he has been here half a season and Lyon spent 1 season here. For me Ali Lauititi has been the best import in the SL era, 11 seasons, ever present and was for years the best forward in the league.

Opposition players need to learn that when Barba is in defence & he shouts 'tig' as they stroll past him they are supposed to fall to the floor.

Usually Man of Steel is a pretty good indicator, Jamie Lyon won it in first full season for his impact similarly with Barba who is favourite for Man of Steel barring injury to keep him out of the game.
Barba is brilliant off the pitch as well in doing a lot of community work to get kids to play the game, forget the Barba NRL model the UK version is fantastic for promoting the game.

Tbh last week was probably a bit of both. If you get 2 teams that are fairly evenly matched (I say fairly as I think Wakey are slightly better than us) then if either team has an off night you'll probably get a 20-30 beating. Unfortunately what you saw last night was a top team playing at (somewhere near) their peak against a bottom half team having an absolute 'mare. When that happens you're gonna get some embarrassingly one-sided blowouts.
Saints were VERY good and even a Salford team at the top of their game would struggle to get anywhere close on that performance. We're not deluded us Salford fans. Our crowds are poop (resulting in little incoming £££), our youth development is light years behind the rest of SL meaning we don't have an influx of local talent and we just cannot compete with top teams without the assistance of a Koukash type owner. In all honesty Ian Watson has done a great job with what he's got at his disposal and if we can sneak into the top 8 then he deserves coach of the year!
As an aside on Barba, he's pure quality. Wasted in SL and if he can sort himself out he should be back in the NRL ripping it up before long. If I was a Saints fan I'd stock up on the Kleenex and enjoy him while it lasts!

| salford simply fall apart when lui isn't playing. barba is a great player but really too soon to say he is SL's best import ever, particularly given that the quality of opposition is much worse now than it was 5, 10, 15 years ago.
It was deffo a red card. evalds was in cloud cuckoo land. there was absolutely no attempt at a real tackle from the saints player and his swinging arm/fist hit evalds square in the face hard enough to knock him out.
Deserves a game or two ban for it.

Jibberish. We scored 24/26 points 2nd half last week after he went off injured. Yes we're a better team with him, but that's from an attacking perspective. Lui wouldn't have done anything to stop the dropped balls, missed tackles, poor desensive calls last night.

Yes i get that and i`m not doubting he is up there with the best players to have played in Super league and you can tell he is good for the club and the sport over here as a whole, but for me when talking about overall best import have to take into account how long they spent here.
I guess the question for me would be would you rather of had Barba at your club for 1 or 2 seasons or would you rather have Lauititi for 10+ seasons consistently been one of (If not the) best forward in the comp?

I don't think Salford fell apart, is was just that the Saints team didn't allow Salford to play there normal game from minute 1 to minute 80.
Barba has been the best player in the NRL when playing for the Bulldogs and I can't think of any other super league player at the moment who has had the same impact half way through this season, also he is probably going to get better with the dry harder pitches.
Matty Lees, no problem with the red card as long as we are consistent with those type of tackles, I reckon Matty Lees wanted to execute a heavy tackle to dislodge the ball, this he did but Evalds was falling to ground and into a swinging arm.

Not necessarily time dependant, world class players will always be in demand to the NRL comp. We had Meninga for a season and Lyon for a couple of seasons and then they returned to the toughest competition in the rugby league code. Lauititi played most of his career in an inferior Superleague and was a stand out player in a similar way Barba is doing now, but Barba will be very much in high demand to return to the NRL, so we are going to enjoy him while we can.

| Jamie Lyon and Ben Barba are easily the best imports that have played in Super league. 3rd place has to go to Trent Barrett. Even though James Roby easily beat him to man of steel he was still a joy to watch when Wigan played the likes of Wakefield and Huddersfield. Andrew Johns doesn’t count because he only played 2 games and hated living in Warrington

| Chris Sandow was phenomenal for us winning super league player of the month consecutively for the first 2 months- this to my knowledge was the first time this has occurred. Then he got injured and the rest is history.
