They'll have fewer and fewer options.
Clubs are only likely to stop hiring unvaccinated players because of the negative effects they bring. If other clubs choose to ignore those effects and hire them then that's their lookout.

True but you can say gay people are going to hell and still get a club apparently, so being a bit of a covid cock should still leave a few doors open.

He was in Lanzarote just before Christmas and Spain is only allowing fully vaccinated tourists from the UK, so presumably not.

Not for long I think. Once a club has a few unvaccinated players and one happens to get covid then chances are all the unvaccinated will have to isolate whereas fully vaccinated players probably won't. That will potentially affect results on the field. Imagine if that happened before a promotion decider? Then there's the potential increased risk to families and friends of the playing group that stand an increased risk of infection if there are unvaccinated players mixing with them. Some clubs may decide that it's more trouble than it's worth to sign unvaccinated players. Some clubs will try and wing it and see what happens. Some may try and ignore the rules completely and hope they don't get caught.

| Quote ="Saddened!"Do you know what potential means? Also, you don't know if it's twaddle though do you? You are just taking the opposite opinion. There was a discussion on the radio last night about how Premier League clubs are now including covid protocol and vaccine related clauses in contracts now. They were talking about how it might impact tennis and if tournaments and governing bodies could do it to avoid a Djokovic repeat. Why would PL clubs start doing that if it didn't add a layer of protection or at least clarify expectations re contracts to players? If they had free reign to do whatever they wanted, as you make out, why would they bother? A similar issue (Health care staff in the US being mandated to be vaccinated in order to work) is in court in America now. It'll definitely be looked at if someone tells a player they aren't getting a contract or are being released because of their vaccination status.'"
yes I also, unlike yourself, know the definition of discrimination. I also know that if you turn down a job because you don't like the perfectly legal terms of the contract you cannot claim discrimination! I am not giving an opinion - I'm telling you the current law regarding contracts of employment.
Funny how you are now slowly changing your argument. Oh and I doubt very much any club needs to give a reason as to why they aren't offering someone a new contract - they are under no obligation to offer a contract to anyone at all!

Saying gay people are going to hell doesn’t (yet) get you banned from going to a country where you might be playing 11% of your season. If you already have a few injuries or players having to isolate, it only takes a couple of extra team members being unavailable for you to be down to the bare bones, and clubs will figure out they just aren’t worth the risks (unlike the druggies and the wife beaters who will continue to find somewhere to land because they always have done and always will).

Hopefully France will see sense and remove it's daft rules before too long. They have some ridiculous vaccine rules and still have restrictions and yet they are removing them despite topping 500,000 cases yesterday. Having a rule that says professional sportsmen have to be vaccinated to play in France whilst they could go on holiday there while their team plays is just really stupid.

Not much of a holiday with the first ten days being spent in quarantine. That's assuming the French could be persuaded that a holiday qualifies as essential travel.

| Huddersfield are 83% vaccinated. If that's first team players only that means 6 players will be unavailable for their first game of the season which happens to be away against Toulouse. A not significant number especially if they are key players. They also happen to have two further away games in France this season in June /July a few extra injuries and the choice of those players could have a very significant impact on the season.

Does make you wonder how many clubs will be eyeing taking the defeat. If you throw in a few injuries and more out due to the concussion protocols and it becomes obvious a defeat is on the cards, you can save the travel cost by staying at home and probably significantly improve your chances of winning the following week.
I can't see Huddersfield being the lowest in terms of % jabbed either. I'd imagine Cas in particular will have a few out.

Got told as of yesterday that Huddersfield had 10 players unvaccinated as of 2 weeks ago
So either that's changed, or it does only cover 1st team players and the 10 figure is extended to include younger squad members?

| I'd love to see a list of the players not vaccinated. I'd certainly hope someone centrally knows who they all are because that's the only way to determine if there's a certain demographic that we need to target for education / assurance.

That''s shocking. You need to have a word with yourself.
Also, when you can be hit with a 0 - 48 loss for not fulfilling fixtures, it puts the 2 French clubs in a stronger position than the English SL clubs, notwithstanding the chaos at Toulouse, of course.

And saddened has me being dramatic.
No SL squad should be in a position where they can't fulfil fixtures because of ant vax loons in their squad.....Carter is just readying for posturing when wakey are under threat at the end of the season........

The 83% was a figure quoted by Watson this week. He didn’t stipulate whether that was across the club or first team players only, bearing in mind younger players may not all have had the opportunity. My eldest is not yet 18 and due to unfortunate timing in having to isolate and contracting the disease himself he wasn’t able to take up his 2nd vaccination until this week.

Sorry, orange boy but, the use of "surrender monkeys" in the context that you used is from a bygone era and you really should know better.
As for Carter "posturing", if ANY rules change part way through the season, it necessarily skews the competition or, are you happy with the "make it up as we go along" ethos.

This era you speak of has become "bygone' pretty sharpish. Access to the internet, the Me Too movement, BLM movement, taking the knee.......and a whole lot more have arrived and accelerated change in the last 2 decades and before you say it's all for the best, these things and their like delivered a few nasty things too.
Given it is accepted that the jingoistic sabre rattling of the Brexit bullcrappers swayed enough to get leave over the line, referring to the French as white flag waving surrender monkeys is hardly a capitol offence...more of a Nigel Farage/Boris Johnstone strap Line
As it as, I used the phrase to underline the absurdity of a poster bemoaning the French Governments reaction and regulation to covid. If you choose to peer past the obvious context, then so be it
Quote ="wrencat1873"As for Carter "posturing", if ANY rules change part way through the season, it necessarily skews the competition or, are you happy with the "make it up as we go along" ethos.'"
Not sure where you've been the last 2 years, but this is currently a "liquid/fluid" scenario and rules will change.......is it fair? Probably not, but neither is Covid 19....it kills indiscriminately and no matter how far you travel on your bus pass to away games, the sovereign right of a nation to pass and enforce laws is slightly more important than 2 points in a battle for bottom of the table supremacy
