I hope it works. Our games against the Bulls used to be ruddy brilliant when they were up there with us. Still pretty good now but I go into a Bulls game expecting us to win when before I would go in hoping we could just compete.
I only say what I said because the drop is quite significant. I think someone stated that it's £18 to get in to Odsal and these season tickets work out at an equivalent of just under £5 a game. That's a big drop off from your half interested spectator who takes in maybe 6 or 7 home games a season.

Ian Lenegan stated that the average revenue from the range of tickets on offer at Quins RL in 2005 was £9.85. Tickets ranged from £25 to £10 that season with ST's from £120 to £350.
Bradford have had 100,000 walk through the gates this year......and if you apply Ian Lenegans calculations, then that's about a million quid
IF Bradford pull this off, then to get the other £400k, they would need 40,000 AWAY fans or Walk-ups over the 13 games at Odslum next year. In addition, if they do sell these 10,000 tickets, they will have a 30% increase in attendances on 2010 and that's 30,000 extra opportunities to sell beer, food, shirts etc.......
Lastly....and again, if they sell these 10,000 tickets..........I would think they might save a few bob on marketing costs in 2011 as well.
Good luck to them

| Widnes have also had their marketing caps on of late. At our last home game there were flyers handed out stating that earlybird season tickets are to be frozen at £156 and anybody taking up the offer for next season can take up the same offer for 2012 should we get in Super League.
Nowhere near as good value as Bradfords (maybe a sign of serious problems at Odsal)? offer but credit is due nonetheless.

capacity at halton = 12,000
capacity at odsal = 23,000
thats why bulls are so cheap.

| I'm not a season ticket holder as I works shifts and it's not an option, but if Leigh did this I would definately get a season ticket. It would save messing about getting tickets before games, it's financially viable for me and I bet there are a hell of a lot of Bradford fans in the same position as me too.
I bet shirt sales fly next year too with the fans having more money in their pocket, this leads to better shirt sponsors. I just hope Bradford get better shirts next year!

Maybe not in the long run, but should do in the short term. At the end of the day Bradford arent going to get 10,000 season tickets at the moment, so its a good way of increasing attendances, and hoping those will continue to stay. If anything more fans can mean more money spent on other items that will benefit the club.

| the way id go about it if i were bulls CEO :
price them cheap, get crowds as high as possible. get a good atmosphere at odsal, which with less than 10,000 in there looks and sounds awful. once it builds up and there is a good atmosphere slowly increase ST price by around 10 pounds per season
huddersfield should do the same. i know they had a cheap ST offer last year, but 8500 in a stadium holding 23,000 just looks s**t

| If other clubs did this I'd be buying a ST for my father-in-law (KR) and for myself (French club - despite never going to get there in 2011). I'm half tempted to buy a friend of mine a Bulls ST for Xmas, despite his living in the midlands.

In a recent issue of RL World, the Marketing Manager at Quins stated that the RFL had established through extensive research, that 1,000,000 people in London had an interest in RL. I would estimate that there are at least 2,000,000 people from the heartlands living and working in the Capital and surrounding areas.....therfore, offer £60 for 13 games of top flight RL.....MARKET IT PROPERLY and see what happens. Let's face it......it couldn't be any worse than it is at the moment [size=50(could it?)[/size
I occasionaly post marketing ideas on the Quins Board and this may be another one!!!! ergo...my anti-fans will blame you........

| Good idea to get people through the gates but it will hit them hard in the pocket I would imagine. I guess they are banking on a large percentage of them to buy passes for their kids too but they are still going to need to sell 15000+ to see monetary benefit.

Not really, you know. Much of the shortfall will be made up by increased ancillary income - and there is plenty of scope - and the likes of sponsorship/hospitality income where bigger crowds (and we would hope much better performances) provide the potential for considerable increases here. But yes, its a huge leap of faith by the club. I think they've pulled off a real coup here.

the only way they will do that is to start bullmania mk2 and earn lots of success on the field at same time and have a brilliant marketing team on board, unfortunatley i cant see those days ever coming back to odsal.

| 60x10k fans= 600K pounds
normal season ticket 120 pounds. 600k/120pounds = 5000 fans
Not sure how many season tickets they sold this year but I am guessing next year would have been around the 6000-7000 mark? So....
if they sold 6000 @ 120 quid then they are down 120k pounds+.

So each of those 6,000 fans would only need to spend £20 over the course of 13 visits in ancilliary income (souvenirs, programmes, food etc) to make back the money they have lost on the season tickets?
How much is a programme these days?
