I think I can speak for the rest of the forum in saying we all pity you.

Saints have overshadowed their own win. Had they not gone to town on Hicks (for no obvious reason) their winning thanks to questionable calls tonight wouldn't have been nearly so contentious. Unfortunately they've brought it on themselves.

That works both ways if Warrington hadn't gone to town with team and biscuits for Hicks we might not have had what's looking like a flukey win by Warrington at Wembley who pre and post Wembley have showed what a below average team they really are.

Also Wire complained about James Child against the Catalans and he didn't ref against the Wire for the rest of the season that is another overshadow in itself.

Hicks's performance at Wembley was totally innocuous, other than a 50/50 call which wasn't sent to the video ref. Similar to a 50/50 call which wasn't sent up tonight actually - the main difference between the games was that Kendall got a lot more wrong in Saints winning than Hicks did in them losing.
Moreover, Warrington dominated Saints at Wembley, it wasn't even close.

I think I speak for most neutral fans in saying that we have all breathed a sigh of relief knowing that it won't be Salford, minus Jackson Hastings, who face the mighty Sydney Roosters next year.

The rugby league gods have made their wishes known, even if it was a sad character like Mr Kendall who was one of their vehicles.

At the same time I am sorry that nobody has had the decency to point out the important role that French international Theodore Fages has played for St Helens this season.

As finals go it was a hard fought game. I thought defenses were on top for large portions of the match.

This final will go down in history as the Chris Kendal final.

He wasn't bias or corrupt as some have said, but he was inadequate.

No doubt refereeing standards are are a low right now, there's only probably 2, 3 at a push who are competent at the moment.

I don't know how improvements can be made, it's not my job, but they need to be. We can't have that standard of refereeing in the showcase game.

Hopefully the lad can learn from this experience and improve, but I'm not confident in that right now.

I’m not sure how many Salford fans will say he wasn’t biased when they watch the game back.

Fages offside for the opening try;
Thompson elbow to the face on the floor - not even a penalty given when it should have been a bin;
Headbutt on the floor - no penalty;
Ball steal judged as a knock on - Saints scored a try from;
High tackle on Evalds - no penalty, then Saints receive a penalty within two plays later and kick for 2;
Dudson judged to have knocked on on Saints’ line when the Sts man was all over him.

It was a seriously one-sided, very poor performance by the ref.

What a ridiculous and vicious tirade!

I guess it is difficult for those of us who are usually on the winning side to understand the terrible pain that the losers feel.

You can add a blatent obstruction in the first half when Walmsley was stood in the Salford defensive line and got in the way off Walker trying to make a tackle or the blatent shoulder charge by Naiqama.

But I don't believe any ref sets out to be bias, he just isn't good enough at his job.
