| Hull's site is back up, but just hasn't been updated. I know that a junior season pass for Hull is for 16 and under (I'm 17, so I know), so I guess that this will be done the same way. It's also just for kids playing for local rugby league clubs too, iirc.

Indeed it does build brand loyalty. But, surprisingly, they didn't go to the games.
So Dally, if they went with someone, who would have to pay general admission. There would potentially be 330,000 people going to games.
When you think back, despite the fact that these kids (and officials) could have gone to every single game for nothing. Was there a single week where the total attendance in the whole of the NRL regular season came to the 165,000. ie all the kid's freebies.

like i said before, last year was a very tough eco. climate and we had close to record crowds so it worked fine
they should hand out more freebies to junior RL players, especially to clubs like penrith and cronulla whose crowds are s**t, or souths / dogs who have massive stadiums to fill

Penrith and the western subs got the most. Didn't work. Give them more.
Tough economic climate has nothing to do with 165,000 poeple being allowed into every single NRL game FREE. GRATIS. NO MONEY NEEDED!!!
Let's see if the NRL keep this going this season. They didn't publicise it hoping that everyone would only notice any increase in crowds. If it wasn't for the NSWRL putting it on their website, we'd never have known.

| RB 20 million spent on 165,000 passes = 121 for a season pass
since you dont pay for your tickets ill tell you a season ticket costs from 300 - 800 depending on team and seat location

At Roosters you can sit in Chook Pen from $145 conc. $225 non
or
Cronulla you can get general admission season ticket for $180. The first two clubs I think of are less than $300.
This from the man that only a few months ago denied that $20m was spent.

| They usually don't count the freebies in the totals anyway.
How many times have you seen a stadium like Parra or ANZ and they say the crowd is 16-17k and it looks a lot bigger?

as I said....I don't think any Money changes hands.....it only costs them what THEY MIGHT HAVE MADE....
Quote ="gutterfax"This is the bit I don't understand. Yes, if an extra 3,000 turn up then stewarding costs will increase, but if the $20,000,000 is in lost revenue due to these tickets not being sold it isn't really a loss is it. You can't lose what you don't have.......I suspect that good accountancy practices are involved here.....with the "losses" being tax deductable

oh well cronulla and the roosters mustve given away 165,000 then.
and both those clubs minimum prices are more than $121
sorry but you are making a mess of this point
work out what the real figures are and get back to me

...not exactly zilch....as I believe there may be some tax-breaks involved, so they might actually have a made a few bob from them
Never ever call accountancy boring .....

Really? You reckon? If anything it'd be the exact opposite. The turnstiles as the SFS for example register the numbers not what sort of pass, form the chook pen to the members stand.
FYI. As a parra fan, you should be aware that when going to Parra Stadium all NRL pass holders have to go to the box office and get a ticket after scanning your pass. You then use a general admission ticket as admission. That's used to get through turnstile and counted as such.

You're good at assuming what I think.
Hypothetically speaking now. If 5,000 people went to say Brookie early with various passes of one form or another. They get let in. If it reached capacity and people were turning up to pay at the door, they wouldn't be allowed in as it'd be sold out. Do Manly get nothing then for letting in 5,000. What do you reckon?

clubs sell tickets to games in advance, if they sell out these ST dont work
if you think the nrl took $20 million in revenues and spent it on these then you need help.

id rather the last word mate, im too tired for more work now
just imagine if the nrl didnt spend the 20 million on junior ST and gave it to the clubs instead, we could raise the salary cap by over 1 million per club
