Give me some slack mate after my huge fail on the PI I need to take every opportunity I can!
No, I don't think it is either but an odd decision to reduce the number of car parking spaces from the outline... do you think they are just trying it on?

Both might be!
I think Castigers/Ramsdens are trying it on to save some cost on spaces and Xscape are trying it on to off load 400 overflow parking places that none of their customers use, because of their location, which is ideal for the Stadium.
It may be a good swap in the end.

You might be right, but why not agree this in advance... or have they and this is the plan to get Xscape out of a S106 or planning condition and Cas the spaces!

strange though.
I have no problem with any other RL club or their fans....if my club were to be jestisoned this summer, I wouldn't point the finger at wakefield....castleford, crusaders or anyone else. The only target of my attention would be My Own Club for letting it get to that stage......it's not like all 14 clubs and other applicants weren't given a rough idea of what would be required is it?
In any order,
A stadium that is up to scratch for the 21st century
Sustainable business model, including fans in numbers that would assist self sufficiency as well as a means to stay afloat until this is achieved. Staying out of administration, paying bills on time etc.....all the stuff that other businesses have to do.
Development of players through youth and academy systems and community schemes and less overseas trained players....
Being competative.....no point in finishing last every year......but getting better.
Helping spread the growth of the game........getting new schools playing the sport, more Kids etc...promoting the family essence of Rugby League...
Let's face it...there are about 6 clubs who are ticking most of these boxes and 8 which are failing in one or more areas.......these 8 clubs, my own included only have themselves to blame if they happen to be the unlucky winner of the golden ticket in June 2011.
......BTW, Just because a couple of posters are getting ar53y on these boards doesn't mean the fabric of RL has changed.....it is still TGG supported by the Greatest Fans [size=50even hkr ones[/sizeicon_thumb.gif

| So the latest revelations seems to prove everything I've said to be true. All along Castleford did not have the funding. Maybe some off the Cas posters on here would like to back down and now admit they have been wrong consistently over the last 5 years!

Nah I doubt it, they've known all along, just could not bring themselves to face the facts, even now there is a couple of them still believe the funding is in place, ask gaslite.

No, we did have the funding.
Ben Bailey had an option to run until October to decide if they wanted to buy the ground.
They didn't, for some reason, exercise that option. We had a back-up plan, i.e. this and is much more beneficial as it allows us to build the full stadium in one go.

So how was the funding always there? If it had been there the ground would of been built. Its just one story after another, if this story came from Wakey we would have 40 page thread slagging us off by now. So now It's just a case of trust Dickie (like we had to take his word in 200icon_cool.gif despite his track record of consistently miss leading and spun stories.
Face it Fully your in denial, it's all gone Pete Tong at least admit it youve been lead down the garden path!

| The funding was there. But I would hazard a guess it was obtainable in stages, i.e. some pieces may have taken longer than others to get in the bank, hence the build in stages.
I'll admit I was wrong on some aspects, yes, but I think the economic issues of recent times have really set back a lot of plans, including Cas. I have no doubt the Tory cuts will have impinged across a number of business sectors.

Castleford own around £6m worth of land, which they will sell when they need to (ie after April 7th).
I'm not sure what the problem is here.

Oh you do say, or did you not type this. Seems you have memory issuses.
Yeah right. We have another option, but we aren't going to tell anyone where it is. No one will object and it's not green belt. Oh and would be ready at the same time as Cas' ground. I can smell something.

£6m...really? Do you know the area and the history of the land? Even if they get £6m do you really think they can construct a stadium for that amount?

| It's funny deeHell. You spend more time commenting on Cas, Cas's stadium plans, Cas's finances than you do on your own club. It really is quite saddening (and funny at the same time).

How come you have only just decided to implement your back up plan then which according to you is more beneficial than anything B Bailey could offer and also gives you the opportunity to build in one go, sorry gaslite I mean fully get real lad.

| Because Ben Bailey had an option on the site.
Not only that we had to leave it longer to see if the economy recovered enough to increase the value of the land/housing market.

As I understand it Ben Bailey still had that option when Mr Wright pulled the plug on the deal last week, that being the case why did he not pull out of the deal some time ago if this new option was in place when it was plainly obvious to all except Cas fans that the likelyhood of Ben Bailey homes increasing their offer was never going to happen.
