| You're allowed to attend matches without trying to look like one of the players you know. Especially if you're an adult. You don't get refused entry at the turnstiles if you're not wearing one of these polyester monstrosities. Try not to let them upset you too much.

Yet they probably still picked the 'best' (I use that word loosely) option.

| I predict Wakefield to have the best home kit (let us win something!). I've not seen the full kit, but the ditching of "Wildcats" and the reversion to the traditional badge, with increased emphasis on heritage, suggests it will be very retro and traditional, which always go down well.
The slight snippets that have been revealed also suggest it will look a bit like a Great Britain shirt, with red and blues V's, which was the Wakefield shirt through some of the sixties.
Revealed this Saturday, it seems.

But it can be an earner for the clubs, which helps in buying players and creating an identity. Let's say Wigan make twenty quid on each shirt. 5,000 fewer sales is £100,000, which can buy you a half-decent prop forward.

| Like the new Wigan one and voted for it.
Its a different take on the traditional cherry & white hoops and I'm confident it will sell extremely well given the number of people that took the time to vote.

Every club has an iconic shirt design that the fans cry out for, Saints have one, Wigan have one, Warrington as well. With Saints fans it's the St George look with the vee or the Meninga two-toned blue away kit for example. But the theory goes that the club won't let the manufacturers design those kits because they'd be too popular. Fans would buy that kit and wear that and not buy anything the club sold for the next ten years. But with semi-awful kits every year, people are more likely to buy.'"
Hull FC broke your theory this season. In 2015, in conjunction with our 150th Anniversary, we produced the best shirt in years, the iconic B&W irregular hoops. This sold in its thousands as you'd expect. However, this season's shirts broke all records with the V proving very popular along with the Magic white star shirt. A Wembley appearance probably had a lot to do with that, but there is still the hunger to have the new shirt whatever the design within the FC ranks at least.

| As with many other shirts (probably our own included) the amount of Sponsors on it spoil a good shirt.
You do get the odd one that doesn't look like a Formula One jacket, nice clean and simple unfortunately in our sport you need all the sponsorship you can get.

Love it, looks like a proper RL kit - especially like us using the red as the primary colour - if they would just bring collers back

I agree that that is part of the 'plan' Hull have resisted doing a cotton retro shirt for years, they've finally done one this year (alongside an experimental Home shirt design) and its a beauty and has sold loads already, but of course this may hit future replica shirt sales as it should last years.

Red has rarely been the main colour but is in fact a crucial part of the club's story.
The club was formed by the Trinity church in Wakefield in 1873, hence the name. The colours red and blue have always been used as the stained glass windows in the church were red and blue, and the kits reflected this. The white has become more dominant through the years, but in the early half of the 20th century the kits were red and blue in the main.

that new badge alone makes the shirt much smarter, they already had a strong 'brand' in Trinity and didn't need that pussycat nonsense!

No it hasn't as far as I'm aware - either blu or white but red has always been there. Wasn't what I expected but frankly I'm delighted, it's still the right colours and the V is traditional and has real visual impact.
Prett uniquie as I cant think of another major R,W & B tri-colour club that uses red as the primary colour.

2002/03 change kit was almost the same (blue and white were opposite way around in the V)
