There's nothing wrong with a bit of biff. But this isn't biff. This is just pushing every rule to the limit and beyond. Be it offside, holding down, interference and niggly shots, they should be penalised.

It's not like they're going out and seriously injuring players but it's niggly and against the rules and so should be penalised. The fact that it's not penalised often enough is what leads to Leigh continuing to do it and opposition teams getting frustrated. The conduct of the coach and other club officials also doesn't help Leigh's cause.

Let's be clear, this isn't biff. It's just cheating.
Most people want to see free flowing rugby on the back of tough runs and solid defence, not on the back of who can hold down or niggle the best. That's the worst of our game and is what puts people off the sport at both pro and amateur level.

Possibly the institution to have the single biggest negative effect on the sport in this country.

The majority of championship games, the opposition slow play down against Leigh. A fast free flowing game suits Leigh.

As for always being offside, how many games have you seen involving any team from any league where the 10 metres is policed properly?

The highlighted bits more than anything makes me think you have formed this opinion based either on hearsay or on very limited (and blinkered) viewing of Leigh this season. Aggression is an issue and discipline is an issue but holding down and interference? Not at all, Leigh are desperate for a faster game than most Championship refs will allow. The game is played much slower than in SL and even slower when Leigh play as every team does everything they can to slow the game down to a crawl.

Batley at home this season we were 18 - 0 up after 6 minutes and (roughly) 36 - 6 by half time. We were playing some brilliant stuff and Batley looked stunned. The 2nd half was just a procession of lying on, half hearted scuffles, convenient injuries, 2 minutes to take drop outs and pushing and shoving at scrums after taking forever to form up. Ball was barely in play and it was almost impossible to play rugby. Think the 2nd half was 12 - 6 in our favour. It is that sort of tactic that we have come to expect week in week out because it keeps the score down and it also frustrates our lads who end up getting drawn in and fall for it hook, line and sinker.

We have plenty of things to work on but we do try to play fast expansive rugby. We are also more than capable of battling out a scrappy nasty win, we need to stick to the former but we far too often and far too easily get drawn into the latter. Especially in the past few weeks.

When they played us, Leigh were simply better, when we made mistakes, they punished us, when we didn't defend properly, they punished us, they had more biff up front for sure, but I think they are the one team in the Championship that EVEN if we had of had an equal amount of biff, we still wouldn't have won! Good luck to them for the Middle 8's and promotion!

We can all sit around calling Leigh thugs when they play like this against all of the SL teams. But the fact is they won't.

They were relatively clean against Wakefield and seemed to be on the back foot until a spark in the second half that saw Wakey crumble like they have done every game since round 2.

When they're up against SL sides every week they'll be unable to play the way they do currently and will adopt different tactics as their current tactics won't work for them in SL imo.

I think this proves a point. When Leigh play SL opposition we play more rugby and get involved in less scrapping. That's because the game is played quicker than in the championship.

If we are allowed to play the ball quickly we will surprise a few. We won't get into the top 8 for a couple of seasons but we should be able to hold our own in the middle 8's and build from there

To be honest in the games i've seen of them i've actually quite liked watching Leigh, fast skilful rugby with a bit of an edge to it and the possibility of a bit of rough stuff, which i quite like. Compared to the almost sanitised to a walk of Super League every week.
They're obviously hard to beat and the niggle and rough stuff adds to that as the opposition will get wound up !

Gareth Hock is a complete and utter Kn)b though and will never change, i feel sorry for the fans of any club who sign him !

I think Leigh fans are slowing coming to the realisation that the majority of Salford posters were correct in their views when he left us to join them. Adds absolutely nothing to the team and is more likely to be a liability than a game winner. Unfortunately the delusions of grandeur that he was still this world class back-rower that "on his day" was up there with the best in the world are gradually evaporating.

They didn't need him in the first place and they still don't now.

Leigh play some cracking rugby. They look like a SL team.
But they've got a side of their play that is unnecessary and isn't being dealt with by the officials. Plus an arrogance throughout the club that doesn't help them win any friends.

Anyone who's seen them play this season can see this.

It's like the Salford fans who think everyone hates them, or are strangely jealous of them, just because they question some of Koukash's bizarre actions.

Sorry Leythers, we do have an aggressive style of play. It's not as bad as people make out but we do play very close to the limit of how aggressive you can be and then when the other team reacts we like a tussle.

It's exactly how we nearly lost v Bradford by concentrating on scrapping rather than playing RL, as soon as we started concentrating on playing over losing our tempers we looked really good.

I'm not saying it's something we should change, because it's working, but us being so protective because it's our team is blinkered.

I can't remember who blind sided Paul McShane in the cup tie (Goulden?), but I go mad when McIlorum attacks a player from behind who isn't expecting a shot, so how can I defend a Leigh player who does exactly the same thing?
