It’s never a good time and I don’t think any time is better than others to have bodies on the treatment table. I’m sure their are various factors but some teams are far ‘luckier’ than others.

It's a managing pain issue which is why Chester says it's up to him.
It isn't a flippant statement.

I said this on another thread, but anyone who follows him on instagram will know that when he flew back from Australia, his foot blew up like a balloon, which might have put him back a bit. Long flights can cause those problems sometimes. But he seems to be in and around the camp, and was on the pre-season jaunt to Alicante (I think), so he can't be far away.

Thankfully, he seems to be one of those players who isn't dependent on being at the very top of his fitness to be on form. A natural talent who has that bit of extra weight that gives him an edge.

We could certainly do with him being able to play, although, not if this means any long term or permanent damage to his foot.

I am not sure how this year will pan out but i have a bit of fear and intrepidation for us the bookies have us second or third favourite for the drop and theyre not usually far off the mark we need a forward and a half have heard kyle turner from rabbitohs and also a loan signing but anything we can do we need to do now so they can gel before season really gets in full flow

Said come early January recruitment been poor and our gaffer still doesn't know what to do in the the halves. Gonna be a tough season we are a prop light. Westerman looks 2 stone overweight.

For those that didn't get to Wednesday's match, Fifita and Arona walked along the terracing doing a bucket collection for Mose Masoe and I thought that Dave had lost a few pounds but looked to be walking perfectly well and certainly wasn't limping

Said it my self it's been poor recruitment got shot down for it not seen any thing from the new players to get me excited but my main worry is we are so slow at the basic skills

I think recruitments been decent to be fair. Everyone we lost has been replaced by better and we kept hold of Rocky just about. Genuine competition in the pack (when not all injured) but think we've improved on last year.

Agree in the halves, Brough is frustrating because he hasn't quite delivered for us yet but he's got it in his locker to boss games.

I agree, recruited pretty well considering everything. Fair enough, not exactly any X-factor players (with possibly Rocky being an exception), but we certainly have a better squad than last year. Always going to be people moaning I guess

Your all right about the recruitment but they've all started to play in the Chester way, not like they did when they came from their previous clubs which is worrying for me, Because now "they've" no confidence. Whatever happened to that coach who said "I wanted to come along & let them play with a smile on there face & release the shackles"

he has always played when he wants to even if he is fit
he is getting the big bucks he needs to all he can to get back out there - and coming back here is not the answer on that long flight

Fafita, arona and bjb we knew earlier than December wouldn't make start of season. Green didn't think did owt special on loan at us.
Tangata looked ok but only ok.
I honestly think Walker our only.top notch signing.
Hampshire I like but we don't no where to play him.
This now.means tanginoa who looks class at centre or 2nd row is gonna be a average prop. Think it's poor prep and that equals POOR.PERFOMANCE

when are questions going to get asked of our strength and conditioning team.

Players now listen to those guys when it comes to everything , injury to preventation and then treatment once they are back (none of ours seem to be getting back )

it been 19 months of terrible injuries - at a small club like ours if it keeps happening its only going to mean one thing

BOJ42 you make some very good points about the coaching but let's wait and see what happens in the first few matches.Got shot down half way through last season for saying when the injury's were beginning to hit .that a lot of the coaches were there when the new coach came in that saved us from going down .He brought it own fitness coach in because the players were not fit

So nothing's really changed or moved on from last season with him then?! Is it just naïve to think he would take painkilling injections before most games to get him through? I haven't heard an interview with him explain stuff, if you have then fair enough. We need him at least 90% fit and firing, he gives us that xfactor that could take us towards the top 4, without him I think we are gonna have to have lower expectations.

He had the op, it was just identified late.
He said it was the worst pain he'd ever felt.
So I guess it doesn't just go away quickly but I don't really know what the issue was.

Well obviously you, me and everyone else just wants him out there doing his stuff, but what we don't need is a point where Chester is running out of patience, a scenario where the medical team are saying technically he's not injured but Dave says he's in too much pain to play?! What happens then???

I don't think anyone has said he's not injured, just that the recovery isn't an easy thing to cope with.

Tell you what, as re. Fifita, just for the sake of being positive, you can tell us he's 100% fit, firing and ready to go and will be playing at HKR yeah? Because you have this on good authority?! The current situation re. him is negative, they are the facts and the reality, but don't let that get in that way of faux positivity eh!!

Neither can you say that he definitely won't, or more importantly that the player replacing won't have the game of his life.
It's just about whether you want to find the negative.
We all know the same facts. It's just some focus on the positive, some on the negative. No harm to anyone else if you want to be the latter, I personally prefer to be the former.

The situation re. Fifita is negative, because of the very fact that no-one actually knows when he will be playing, and the fact he got the injury in the first place! The negativity of it is because of what it is, it is not manufactured by me because I am perceived to be a negative person by talking about his current situation. It would be a positive 'story' if he had won the man of steel and leaded us to glory?! You can't just not report, or discuss something because it is negative, if you did, news bulletins would last about 5 minutes!! There is nothing positive about the current situation with him until he takes to the field and performs at his best.......like you say, he may well play at HKR, I hope he does and has a blinder, but God willing I will be there and will be cheering on the 17 who take to the field, that is of course until someone misses a tackle that results in a try for the opposition, and i'll probably shout and curse them, because that is the nature of the beast i'm afraid!!

Nobody is arguing that not being able to play your 1st choice positions isn't a negative.
But our fate lies with the collective, not with Daves ******* big toe.
