| Despite the assumption on this board, that league players should walk into union teams, it is difficult for players to switch successfully. Some basic skills are transferrable but the games are very different. Kyle Eastmond has the skills to be a great success at either code but always gives the impression that his head will, sooner or later, let him down.
When I see Joel T playing for England RU he really doesn't look like a union player. When he gets near a breakdown he looks like a twelve year old just starting out, but he is always trying. Attitude is everything. Eastmond, on the other hand, has a history now of walking away leaving a bad smell. He could be great in union but has fallen behind half a dozen other players who all look the part.
I would like to see him back in league but think that, like Jason Robinson, he really needs a Tiagumala (sorry for the spelling) to guide him.

| Harris and Smith were never the same when they came back, would Eastmond be any different.
Harris especially was a talented player, but his 2nd stint in league was average.

In union playing at 12, he would have touched the ball twice a game if lucky.
Bath confirmed he has been disciplined for walker out.'"
Apparently vs Worcester this month he didn't touch the ball once in a full game.

| Union is as different to league as it is to Nfl. Lots of sports have football in the name but are very different, the two codes of rugby share a common ancestry and not much else. Time to stop referring to them as two codes and start calling them two sports .
Hope when he comes back he is used as a lesson to any other player thinking of switching again.

YEAH....because there's a massive list of failed code switchers either way............not like the 2 tries in the 2003 RWC final were scored by switchers is it
Eastmond needs an attitude transplant....he went for the money thinking RWC 2015 beckoned....he has come up short and now will have to work hard to get back to where he was.
Why isn't London Broncos an option on the list BTW......we have room on the cap, that's for sure

Briers would have been on a big chunk wouldn't he? maybe thats another good bit of timing for 1 of your lads retiring for Eastmond to step in. Didn't Hicks go early to keep another fine player in your squad?

| I don't think Warrington need him. they ave Myler and Ratchford in those two slots and they have the Scotland fullback (who isn't too bad is he) so where would they slot him in? Not at centres and a bloody waste on the wing he would be with the talent he has.
If he is under a decent contract it will be immaterial as no team would want to buy him out with the costs that would incur.

| I'd be very cautious over signing a player, any player, who walks out on their teammates at half time. I don't care if he doesn't like playing Union, that's just a petulant and arrogant act.

| He was subbed at half time (tactical reasons apparently) so would not have been allowed back on in any case so drove home. Okay, should have hung around but it is hardly walking out on the team mid-match as some have said.

I'm not sure how Eastmond walking out on his team at half time can be described as not walking out on his team mates at half time.

Eh, he had been subbed, ergo he had ZERO involvement in the match from that point on, under RU rules he would not be allowed back on the pitch as a player, that is not 'walking out mid game' as simply as it has been implied as if he was due to play in the 2nd half and had already got changed and fooked off.
I agree he shouldn't have done it, sat on the bench and put up with it, a disagreement on his part with how they play him as I understand it.

So again, I'm struggling to understand how Eastmond walking out on his teammates can be described as not walking out on his teammates.

| Meanwhile, the good news is that the cleaning staff have just announced the operation to replace all the toys scattered around the ground back into Eastmond's pram has been completed, however the search for his dummy continues.

Exactly. Couple that with the non effort he put in for Saints after he had signed for yawnion just screams bad attitude. One to avoid or at the very least be signed to a contract full of very strict performance & behaviour clauses.

| Id have him back at saints in a heartbeat.
At 6 for us next to walsh would be awesome. Apprently over his injury concerns too, however this could be to do with him not touching the ball in 3 years
