| Nope pointless and players play enough games as it is. Exiles plus two games against France in France every year would be fine.

| I'd have International Origin, but make the Captains of Wales and France automatic co-captains of the Exiles, and have a guarentee of welsh and french players

| To bring in a origin series we'd have to lose some league games or the cc cup.
Idealy we should start and finish the season the same time as the Nrl ending with the wcc 2 weeks after the grand final and then inti the international series.

| I like this after-season chat about naff competitions - and in that i include the four nations. No-one gives a shat during the SL season.
I think that's the problem.

| Nothing will re-enforce the cloth cap image of rugby league more than a 'War of t'roses' competition! An absolute no no is this (and im an ardent a Lancastrian as the next man) International origin by all means and xtend the Exiles concept to include real Welsh and French born players is a great thought for me.
Establish this properly and the away test in France each year and you have the backbone of an international calendar, as well as ticking the need for competitive England matches and French development boxes

When we get a genuine international competition , ie the French or Welsh start beating England , then people will get interested

| Grow the exciles concept. It had a very promising start and it's meant to have it's own weekend next season so let's see it kick on.
That could prove to be the link between league fixtures and internationals we crave.

It might grow if we can start winning those games as well

It's the only way it'll come back: as a level below the top.
It should never replace England internationals, and suggesting using top players in it IS replacing potential England internationals.
As for using French and Welsh players in the Exiles, why? Where have they been "exiled" from for a start? Chances are, the French will still be playing in France, and until recently the Welsh would have most likely been at Cru (or born in England!).
It would make FAR more sense to just have France vs Wales next season on the same weekend as England vs Exiles (especially if it's on a free weekend as rumoured).

England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, France, with GB competing at the end of the year.
SL funding cut, and payment made for clubs to release players for the home nations, the more players you have playing for them, the more money you get. It becomes in your best interests for a player to be playing international RL and a player like Carvell or Brough doesnt need to switch to England to play against the tier 1 nations because we would play as GB.

| Reduce SL to either 12 or 10 teams preferably 10, have P&R make the championship 14 teams, have a playoff league of top 5 clubs at the end of regular rounds play each other once with top club playing all home games and bottom of the 5 all away, top 2 in GF. bottom 5 playoff the grand loser goes into promotion/relegation match with winner of championship. THEN AND ONLY THEN would i support a 5 nations

| Slash the O/S quota, good/rep players are always going to be in the top league, it means teams will be saturated with better quality players which means more intense games meaning a higher standard of rugby.

How would reducing the number of overseas players in SL magically make the British players that come in to replace them better quality than they are now?

| I didn't say it would 'magically' do that but it does mean putting more faith in guys and giving them more game time, which MIGHT improve them. Reducing the quota may mean only getting in real quality too.

But it would still lose us lots of players.

| I see a lot of people are omittiing Cumbria from their 'grand plans' yet again.
Quite ironic considering out of the 3 counties Cumbria is the only area still with a sense of identity.

| Correct but why would Cumbria want to be associated with Lancashire or Greater Manchester? Much the same as Yorkshire wouldn't want to be 'lumped in' with anyone else.
The resurrection of the County Champ may be a worthwhile experiment, even if it only included non SL players.
What's the worse that could happen? It could even be played throughout the season on one of the many spare weekends and include Wales and France in a 5 nationsesque competition.
