Perhaps you need to see everything in terms of point scoring. Your choice.
You think its low to mention. Fine. i do not give a hoot about your value system.
If the Giants treated Watene walkers in this way I would be disgusted. I would agree with someone who sees it as of poor management

i never ever defended the RFL's decision to keep us up - it was wrong!'"
agree 100%
in fact i dont think you will find any fartown fan who agreed with the decision to keep us in super league, despite the fact that hunslet and dewsbury didnt have the infrastructure to enter SL,
by keeping us in SL when we shouldn't have been, it set us back 10 years, we had to more or less build the club back up from the bottom, build the supporter base etc, which we are doing now but it has taken 9 years
and as for the stupid, pathetic "merger"
hope thats nailed my colours to the mast

Should I? Fascinating. A typical Wakefield view of women? ho hum.
Back to topic. Wakey seem in disarray. Despite some wakey fans defending it the treatment of the Watene walkers is poor. A poster claiming to be Demitriou's father (which no one contested) says there are other player related problems.
Maybe this all rumour and press spin. Maybe it isn't.

And connected wakey fans know this is so.
A poor gate yesterday, no gate money for a few weeks and no transfer fees can be problematic.

| If the RFL can bail out London Bronchos, why not a club that that is well known, cared about and has some history.

Come on then, how dod the RFL "bail out" London?
And while you're at it, how much does having London in SL contribute to our SKY TV deal?

By agreeing to let them write off their debts and start afresh or something like that, without having to be relegated.
And I keep hearing about how we need London for the sky TV deal, but no one ever comes up with any evidence to support that claim. Its just the pro london apologists who keep bleating about the sky deal. People need to realise that rugby league just isnt going to work in london. They have produced, what, one decent player since they started and their crowds havent improved.

Checked out the England youth squads recently? Thought not - but Quins have a couple of players in the U15/U16s. Wakefield have, well, none.
Had a look a the growth in participation levels across Greater London recently? Thought not.

Richard Lewis said if the clubs voted to take all accrued points off London Broncos up to that point then he would consider it a vote of no confidence in him and he would walk. The clubs then voted in favour of letting London keep the points (the then Widnes Chairman Tony Chambers voted in favour of letting London keep the points to the dismay of many Widnes fans).
Strictly speaking it wasn't 'bailing out' London but can you imagine Richard Lewis doing the same thing for Wakefield IF the rumours are to be believed.

They're barely managed to put stock on the shelves in the club store. ('Mediumgate')

Drew and Petersen talking legal action against the club to ensure contracts are fulfilled.
They can't even afford a paddle for the creek they are up.'"
a post on the wakey board by a poster with some inside knowledge (TRB) woud seem to support the gist of what Wadski points out!
So it is not trouble causing giants fans making up rumours!

That's roughly how I remember it as well, although I'm not sure if Widnes weren't one of two clubs who abstained in the vote, the other (IIRC correctly) being Wakefield. I think the vote went through with a majority of two.

| Wakefield and Widnes both abstained. Wakefield CEO explained the reasons at a shareholders meeting soon after the decision. As well as the threats from Lewis I seem to remember the Sky contract being used as leverage too.

I'm fairly sure it was 5-4 with 2 abstentions (Wakefield and Widnes as already mentioned). The 4 naysayers were Wigan, Leigh, Salford and Bradford I think.
