I did think last night that this will help us. It'll be like the game after a cup final. The downside for us is that they get a longer rest.

Agree what your saying BLM but I see our current squad as the strongest in a long time and I’m sure most if not all would slip into other squads comfortably, there is just something missing from our team that I can’t put my finger on ,wether that’s the coaching set up or a mental thing that’s stopping us from kicking on as we should. IMO consistency has always alluded us over the years, we beat teams that should beat us then lose to clubs that we expect to win .Not a clue how to sort it out but that’s my take on wakey over the years and probably why we’ve never really put a decent challenge on either league or cup ,which as a fan of over 50 years is frustrating. Yes I know we’ve had the odd nearly and what ifs but on the whole the only thing to shout about is we haven’t been relegated .But you know what I’ll still be supporting wakey up until I draw my last breath, I’d just like wakey to put a bit of silverware in our cabinet sooner rather than later .

Thing is with that game, if you compare it to ours' at HKR, it looked like it was played at twice the speed! Saints by their standards were poor, obviously partly down to how well Warrington played. You just hope when we play those teams we can somehow go along at the pace they go at. At our best with a full team I think we can match them, but people are running out of patience a bit. If we don't win on Sunday anxieties are only going to grow.......

I think people just need to chill out a bit. We are in the midst of an injury crisis, with even those playing are carrying knocks or recovering from long term injuries. Im not too fussed about a resut tomorrow, the performance is what we are looking for.

We can safely write off Wire next week, but then we have Cas and Salford, Hudds Toronto all coming up we should have some bodies back for those and need to capitalise.

Well yeah that all sounds good in theory! If you are writing off the Wire game, then ditto for Cas because we never beat them no matter who's playing for either club! You have already fallen into the trap of.......players coming back+winnable fixtures=?? Doesn't mean we will automatically win any of those games, our level of performance has been pretty poor for some time now, that has to change quick if for confidence levels alone. I think it's pretty important we win on Sunday, but no not the end of the world if we don't. It is about time we saw a better level of performance from some of those players, both individually and collectively.

Yeah thats true enough but its hard to play with a beaten pack. Koppy has been a shadow of what he was when he first came, we've had to move our best strike player to prop where he is totally wasted. Our golden left edge are all on the way back from bad injuries.

I just think once we get Dave, Arona, Green and friends back we stand a much better chance of standing up through the middle. Josh Wood looks a great signing too - watched the HKR game back and hes a beast.

I do understand what others have been saying about our youngsters and other teams ours just dont seem to progress like they do at a wigan or saints and its only three or four years ago our youngsters were hammering them yet dont seem anywhere near as good as their counterparts at other clubs

IT all comes back to the coaching or lack of it .Not blaming Chester it's the poor back up he as got

Absolutely, I agree with just about all you have said, but.....HKR had 3 major forwards out of their normal 17, they had a few new players in key positions etc, it's not just us suffering on that front. By the looks of it Catalans will have more out than us, so if we keep underperforming, the excuses start to wear thin. I doubt over the next few weeks we are gonna look like the well oiled machine we have done in the past for reasons mentioned, but so will some of the teams we are playing! Maybe this season will be a complete opposite to last year, in that we come home with a wet sail......

Not sure how it works down at Bellevue, but surely Mr Chester would largely be responsible for selecting his own backroom staff.

Don’t forget, Warrington will have an extra 3 days rest before our game with them.

Too true Ketty. Good post. I agree with everything you say. It's as if there is a Wakefield Trinity "State of Mind"; something that is intangible that you just can't put your finger on. I believe the mental aspects are coming into the game more and more these days both on and off the field. I think at one time Trinity brought a sports psychiatrist into the fold. Does anyone know if this is still the case.

I disagree. Put the best team out and let's get in their faces. We cannot afford to write any game off before it's played. It's all about attitude and it's about tine we got some at Wakefield,
As others have alluded to on here there's a mentality thing at Wakefield, and I would like to see some super confidence, even arrogance shown from the players to bring the best out in them.
