| Misili Manu - fast enough but skill wise he was woeful I'd say a 1000 times worse than Penny's technical ability!!! Problem was he thought he was too good to play for the Skolars where his dad was a part of the set-up but in reality he would have been a pretty dangerous player for them!
Think Mal Reilly as coach was one of our worst signings but luckily we had the balls to release him, never watched a more boring brand of RL!!

He wasn't a bad player for us. Scored a few tries.
For Widnes I'd say our worst signing was Troy Wozniak.

Ben Walker is a bit harsh, he was awesome for that one afternoon against Bradford.
Also Powell has to take the blame for him been crap by playing him at full back.
Mullins and Clyde were miles worse.

| Paul Franze for Cas wasn't great. Played one game and left because he couldn't hack the pace of the game.

| I remember watching an academy match at Leeds when Salford were the opposition. Gray Viane was down to play at centre and had been named at 4 on the team sheet. Out come the teams and Gray is there and wearing the 14 shirt. On asking Alan Hunte why the numbers had been changed (with Daley Williams) he just turned round and said "Gray's a fat c*nt and didn't fit the shirt."

| Terry Holmes is the one I thought of immediately on reading the thread title.
Other notable candidates include John Gallagher, Dai Young and, for the oldies amongst us, McDonald Bailey (Olympic 100m bronze medallist) who signed for Leigh in the 1950s and Arthur Rowe (European and Commonwealth Shot Putt gold medallist) who signed for Oldham in the 1960s. The last 2 played about 3 games in total between them I think.

Fielden was shot before he came to Wigan. He'd been nowhere near previous form for much of that season at Bradford.

| Tame Tupou @ Bradford. Heralded as the replacement for Leslie and played 14 games over 2 years and eventually was 'sacked' for not training and may still go to court for compo.

| For me ours would have to be David Bishop. He had the talent to have really taken the team places but not the temperament. Spat his dummy, left us in the lurch and gave the club's decline a helping hand.

| Wigan had a couple of doozies in the early SL seasons, Doc Murray & the centre (koloto, koloi?) spring to mind.
Biggest flop? Must be Mark Carroll.

Neither were bad signings IMO.
It wasn't Bell's fault that he suffered a career ending injury in the first game or so. Also, Ben Walker was OK for us except when he was played at FB. Mullins was probably the worst from that era, he came over requiring surgery without telling Leeds (they should have given him a medical first though), and didn't ever seem that bothered to play for us, then goes home and signs for an NRL club (Roosters?) and had a decent season.
If we're sticking with Leeds the decision to sign Gareth Stephens in place of Jason Robinson has to be up there.

| If you don't take into account his injuries, Mathers has been a pretty poor signing for Wigan.
