| Quote ="PrinterThe"Cas completely fluffed the last 10 mins. To be 10 up with 10 to play and concede 3 tries in 7 mins would've gone down as one of the worst chokes in memory but were let off by Percival having a 'mare with the boot and Morgan's brain fart. Will open the question of will they be able to handle the pressure if it's close towards the final minutes at Old Trafford.'"
Absolutely. I hope for a Hull v Cas final as it will give us a new name and probably the best possible final. Hull or Leeds certainly won't be the type to ease off but finals footy is a different beast. Cas have survived despite their mistakes and thus can learn from it so I think we'll see a more composed Cas next week which should make for one of the best finals in recent years.

| I think Saints & Hull are 2 teams who have learned how to play Cas this season. I would much rather play Leeds in the GF as they are one team who haven't so far.

| Cas need to learn how to see games out. A few times this season they've sat on a comfortable lead and then clinging on at the end.
They were home & dry with 10 to to. They've not got much wrong this year, but closing games out is something they need to work on for next year.

It did seem like we were playing the last 20 secs of NFL, Cas use a lot of blockers in there game plays which seems to out smart the Refs at times.

Not read the thread but read this post. Tigertot, if this is a about the obstruction then it is what it is. An obstruction. If he hadn't done it Barba still gets the ball and it's game over. Poor judgement by the saints player. It's a game of fine margins!

Cas have played two big knock out games this year, they were comfortably beaten in one and despite showing great nerve to get through last night at the death were not at their usual standard and were fortunate Saints missed so many kicks and a crazy penalty got them out of jail.
The pressure will be even bigger next week. I know this is not the Leeds of old but they have done OT many times, it wont faze the team one bit and Hull will be an even bigger obsticale given their big final victories now and big wins over Cas this year they will go there full of confidence.
Anyway, looking forward to another good game tonight, the final should be great whoever it is an all west yorkshire derby or a new name on the cup which would be long over due.

| Cas will have learned plenty from last night.
They had some luck, but they didn't choke as many predicted and hoped, neither did they choke in the KO cup game when they put 50 on Saints, neither did they choke the night they beat Wakefield to lift the shield.
Did they choke in the cup game against Hull? Maybe, but let's remember it finished 4 tries all but more importantly Hull away was just a tough fixture full stop for any team. Losing to the better team and cup holders is not choking, merely just defeat.
Leeds have looked for revenge over Cas every game since the 66-10 humiliation and have come up well short, just like they did when they were played off the park by Hull in the cup semi. Are they chokers?
Hull will be tough for Cas, and that's why Cas fans will be hoping Leeds get the win tonight.
There's little to fear for Cas if they get Leeds in the final, this isn't the class of 2015, not even close.

Actually the lesson(which still stands BTW) was that no matter how easily you stroll through the regular season the playoffs nearly always come down to fine margins, and last night proved it. You will almost never see a team outscored 5 tries to 3 and still win the game.
To be 10 points up in a GF semi and concede 3 tries in the last 10 minutes is a complete shocker, all Percival had to do was convert one of the those last 3 tries. The obstruction was correct but needless, the kick from Gale was a complete howler and no one would have got near Barba. Cas played one of the biggest get out of jail cards I've ever seen. Next week is now another step and hurdle to overcome, there's no reason to think Cas won't because they've dealt with almost everything so far, but this time trust people when they say things are different at Old trafford, because they are. The pressure cranks up ten fold, and how many times you thrashed a team during the regular season means nothing.
Still, Cas will probably win.

| Glad Cas won last night seems a few waiting to put the boot in when it looked like they were going out? The kicking duties especially in ko rugby are huge and often the difference in these big games .Snide and Gale have won a fair few games for their teams,im not sure Williams,Pericival or Watkins are people I'd want taking a match deciding kick from wide out? More noticeable with leeds n Wigan as they had Richards and Sinfield prior to these inferior kickers. Gales points under intense pressure and Percivals wilting under same pressure was the difference. Saints kept Shenton and Webster quiet and their 2nd row didn't get the good ball they normally do.Should Saints have won? Probably imo but Cas found a way to win whilst not playing as well as normal. Great game all round and thoroughly enjoyed it

| Going to golden point extra time seemed a bit daft.
Surely the higher placed team should just get the advantage in the case of a draw after 80 mins.
The reward of finishing higher up the table should be more than just a home game in a knockout tie.

Rather then another episode of anti Cas it could be summed up much easier by giving the very tag to Saints that everybody expected and hoped to pin on Cas. Chokers!
Cocky cakky Cas by plenty.

| Did we deserve to win? Maybe, maybe not but at the end of the day the result stands no matter who 'deserved' to win.
I doubt any Cas fan thought it was going to be easy no matter how well we did during the season as it's a totally different thing to play in big matches over a regular season game.
Yes Saints missed most of their kicks but that has nothing to do with Cas and in the end we found a way to win - might have been lucky but sometimes you need that little bit of luck to go in your favour, many other teams have had it over the years.
When it comes to next week I expect the same again no matter who we play. The semi will have helped a lot in giving players exposure to those types of games and that it's truly not over until the whistle has been blown and the ball is out of action.

No, that isn't a lesson . At no stage did I think it would be a walk in the park. It's playoff rugby, it's gunna be tight cagey and the intensity up a level. We didn't play well last night, but we found a way to win, again , all you have to do in playoff rugby. If we are going to win at old Trafford, no matter who we play next week, we have to be better. We haven't relied on luck at all this season but so what, we got some last night. Are you telling me that Saints haven't ever got lucky before ? That leeds never got lucky during the last 10 years ? If I know all this, then I'm pretty damn sure anyone who matters associated with the club will know it.
The smugness of some of the cretins on here who were praying for Saints to win just to label the choker card at Cas is laughable.

Saints probably shouldnt have made the play off's.
Their luck was all used up with their smash and grab victory over Wakefield. (yes, it still hurts)
