The bit in bold is wrong. The salary caps were equalised prior to the season when Toulouse entered League 1. This was at the behest of Leigh chairman Derek Beaumont who lobbied (no pun intended) successfully for it following the initial Qualifiers campaign. He then used his own money to outspend the rest of the Championship the following season and gain promotion. Leigh may or may not make the top 4 and if they do they may or may not gain promotion but they are having to cope with a situation they themselves created and initially benefitted from.

He placed the middle 8's on a level playing field. He had to stick a £1m bond up with the RFL to see the changes you have now. The RFL increased Leigh's SC to £1.3m courtesy of that bond.

after the expansion team who have been in existence for less than 2 years, Toronto, gave Leigh, who have been existence for hundreds of years yet still can’t get in super league yet another mullering, it’s plain to see that Toronto deserve to be in SL. Probably at the expense of Widnes

No. That’s not what I’m saying at all but feel free to use poetic licence. What I’m saying is that there are clubs who have been around for decades who “still” contribute nothing to the game as a whole. They have had chance after chance so it’s time clubs like Toronto have their chance. <Not acceptable, removed>.

I guess it depends on how you define a contribution to the game? Fax have little money, but now have a steady flow of Championship standard players coming through their reserve team, at least one of whom looks destined for SL in the next couple of years. I see that as a very real positive contribution to the game, as it's delivering good quality players into a diminishing pool at a professional level in the UK.

I'm a Fax fan with more than 40 years of tears and joy (mainly tears) behind me.

This attitude, mainly from Leigh fans, could be one of the reasons some take a disliking to Leigh.

Toronto will succeed or fail on the pitch this year, as it should be. Anything that changes this is just plain wrong.

The "dislikes" of Leigh here are probably countable on the digits of one hand.

I don't see what Toronto have brought to the game in two seasons! Other than a ticket across the pond. New York,Boston now historical projects.

The initial hype showed promise,that all seems dead in the water now. I agree they deserve a chance if they do it on the park.

Clubs with 100 years start on Toronto will still be here whether Toronto make it or not.

Couldn't care less. As long as my side stays up. Though I did enjoy the championship and it's strange quirks last year (playing games at 3pm on a Sunday, what are they thinking). But I'd like us to stay in SL for abit longer.

As for this clubs not doing anything for x number of years. Which is wrong but hey ho.
Perhaps you should be thanking them for keep the sport going that long so that the expansion clubs had something to join.

Well I’m led to believe Magic Weekend has been signed off for New York next year.

The response form UK fans will interesting if it’s true. No confirmation from the RFL yet.

Of course there isn’t, they’ll release it the month before.

Good luck trying to get fans to pay for Magic Weekend tickets, a trip to New York and all that comes with, Wembley Tickets, Grand Final tickets, international tickets, club season tickets. And that's just rugby league related. A much more affordable and beneficial overseas venture would be to hold it in France.

But what about the times we play in Australia loads of supporters go from all clubs so if and it’s a big if they announced it early they would get people to go from all clubs

NYC is a bit more expensive than NSW, bad idea.

Isn't the idea of having the Magic Weekend in NYC to expose the game to new fans, rather than asking UK based fans to travel?
