A grade A with an EGP 1 ban rescinded to just a fine

Well that’s the bar set, Anyone with an EGP left should be looking to take a swing at the back of a playmakers head, try take him out of the game, take your EGP and be ready for the next game.

I have no problem with the decision, just no faith whatsoever that it will be consistant with future decisions.

Nah, just think the ref on the day & the grading bring the game into disrepute, irrespective of who the player is.

I don't understand this Ablett wasn't looking crap i keep reading, yes it was a cheap shot but Ablett was looking at Briers the whole time not once did he turn his back....

Serious question, if Leeds manage to beat Saints in a tough game next week, 1st minute of Leeds V Wire, Kallum Watkins, big strong lad, smacks Briers and takes him out of the game, wire lose. Watkins stays on the field enters his EGP and plays in the GF. Would you accept that as sufficient punishment?

The fact Briers swings like a small child is more luck than judgement, he shouldn’t be rewarded for it. If you think it through then the end game of that is that Ablett throws himself to the floor like a sack of spuds, feigns injury, goes off for 10 or 15mins (remembering that an injury from foul play gives a free substitution) and Briers gets a worse punishment because of it. Briers should be punished for what he did, we shouldn’t make it in Ablett’s best interest to make it look worse.

Yes, he looks off guard in the photograph. Do you actually know what blindside is? How else could you grade it, or do you think there should be a special grade for Lee Briers?

Also, he wasn't taken out of the game.... no one was injured.
