It’s not a joke decision.

I can see arguments for saying it should be a yellow but there was a shoulder to the head after the ball had gone. It’s hardly an outrageous decision. If the Hull man wants to go in and rotate his shoulder like that he has to be more careful and has no need to jump. It’s not the worst tackle ever but it’s also not unreasonable as a red card.

Good work from the video ref to inform the onfield ref, exactly what should happen.

The only issue I have with the whole incident is that it required the Hull KR man to be injured/stay down for it to be looked at. If he’d got up and played on it would only have been looked at after the game.

For me:
Hull FC first try - correct
Red card - correct
HKR disallowed try - incredibly wrong, too many refs who never played the game and don't know how to read it make poor decisions.
Talanoa try - incorrect, his fingers are in touch before he lifts them.

Eh? The Hull try was fine. Not enough to show Talanoa touched the sideline before grounding. Perfectly reasonable decision.

The 1st disallowed one was right too in my opinion. Deliberate attack at the ball rather than an attempt to wrap the ball up. I just wish it was given more often rather than it being given as a knock on by the opposition.

A video ref who can't read the game, an inexperienced on field ref who should NOT get a game like this and 2 touch judges who are apparently visually impaired. What an advert for the sport

Honestly don’t know what game you lot are watching. Seems like you’re determined to say the ref is a joke regardless of the decision or situation. Don’t think he’s done much wrong in that game. The only issue I’d have is the possible forward pass from Carney but there’s plenty of players blocking the view of the TJ and it’s not massively forward.

Otherwise think the ref has done alright and think the VR has got it right so far too. Certainly not the joke/disgrace/shocking/ridiculous situation that is being made out on here.

Red card - correct 10/10 red card.
HKR disallowed try - correct, it’s unfortunate and Hull Kr would score without the obstruction, but there was an obstruction.
Talanoa try - correct, his fingers are not in touch before he scores.

If I tackle you and hit the ball at the same time and the ball spills its a knock on, the first try the video ref saw the arm and ball the hit at the same time. So now there is a new rule for try scoring tackles. All the other doubtful tries were forwards, in touch. Ball steals given as knock ons. The Red card was the only decision I agree with

don't really know how you can call the officiating as shocking etc etc when you lot on here can't agree on the big decisions. correct red card was the only thing the majority of posters agree on, and even then there are a couple calling it wrong/harsh.

I think when Hull F.C. play H.K.R. again they should play with twelve, it evens up the contest.

Lee Radford has some views on this in his usual honest and up front way, if you look on the match report on BBC. It's hard to disagree with him.

He's bang on IMO. I switched off at half time as I was heartily sick of the level of VR involvement. P**sed off with games being ruined to satisfy a handful of nerds who get pleasure from dissecting the minutiae. Even then decisions are still hit and miss.
