It was exciting by about game 5 of the Super 8's when the shield became imminent, but the first few rounds felt like it was about waiting for the semi-finals. But yes, you're right. I'm assuming Leeds will be back up there, but you wouldn't lose the excitement if we kept the old play-off system but found a way to have a MPG. Like against the top Championship club.

I agree. By rights, they shouldn't have been playing today and gone down. If you finish 4th in the middle 8's, with the Super 8's above you, you've finished 12th.

If you want some help with maths, I'd recommend working out how many minutes there are in eighty.

It's like saying we were top after the first game of the season ie we should be crowned champions.

Everyone knows how it starts and finishes. The league is an uneven structure anyway so a playoff makes it no more or less fair.

The middle 8's system is fine. The issue with the game is not the structure. It has never been the structure.

Its the number of people playing it and the amount of money coming into the game.

The new structure needs tweaking in my opinion.
The million pound game is a marketing joke. Taking no consideration into the livelihoods of anybody involved.
Yes the games are exciting but absolutely rotten to have all that at stake in the one game.

If we must stick to the structure then the bottom 3 just get relegated to the championship without all the fuss.
The top championship side could possibly be rewarded with a starter 2 points and the bottom SL club could be punished starting on minus 2.

The big problem is this....

It was always going to go down to the wire. A draw after full time then. Golden point is the issue. In reality, in a game this tight the team that was relegated really was down to the toss of a coin. If we'd won it, we receive it, drive up the field and drop the goal. Yes, Salford still had to actually do it, but the coin toss put everything in their favour.

A vital game like this should never have been allowed to be decided by the stupid golden point rule. Football realised this, that's why they got rid.

Don't agree with that, i mean look at last years NRL GF. Brisbane drop the restart and the cowboys get the ball back to win it. Salford still had to get up field and into position, and by rights he shouldn't be allowed to knock it over from there near Half way, but it was a great kick despite the lack of pressure. It's a bad way to lose it for either side in golden point but it's like penalties in football, not nice for the loser. still can't believe your side couldn't see it out 8 points up with 2 minutes to go, that's where the game went.

The got down to the 40 metre line from the kick off and then dropped it from 40 metres out. Worthy of winning any game, no problems there. I doubt hull kr would have been able to do that, they've lost 2 games by a drop goal.

Hull kr richly deserve to go down and now they'll have to take their medicine.
