Hi, Have booked a twin room for Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights in Cardiff for the Magic Weekend, unfortunately I have to go into hospital the week before and now can't go.
It is at Austins Guest House, www.hotelcardiff.com/, just across the river from the stadium, if you go onto Google Earth, you will be able to view its position.The cost of the room is £65.00 per night, an it has a shower in the room with a toilet "just down the hall". Breakfast is available at £3.00 per person, but don't know if this is a cooked or continental breakfast.
I had to pay the first nights cost,and the remainder would be payable on arrival. So if anybody is interested and will reimburse me, contact me and I will get things sorted.

How many people is it in the room? And do you want someone to take all the nights? We're only looking at coming up for the one night and can't really afford to pay for any more than that.
(If it was a BH weekend and I had a little more money, that situation would have been absolutely perfect as I usually stay for three nights!) |

We're booked in at the Nomad Hostel right in the city centre and it appears you can still book online for the Magic weekend! £23 per person for Fri/Sat night and £15pp for the Sunday!

I've tried their website, and I keep getting this message for the 12th Feb:
"There is not One Room available for the requested date. You could try splitting your booking to book all rooms and beds and we will do our best to later combine your bookings in to One Room!"
That was when searching for 12th Feb for one night with one person.

It's irrelevent where I live.
However I am eternally grateful that I don't live in Newport. Where as New York is nicknamed 'The city that never sleeps', Newport is rightfully known as 'The city that never wakes up'
You will be blown away by the delightful views of the crystal clear unpolluted waters of the river Usk bordered by neatly manicured swathes of lush green grass from your luxury railway carriage as you glide effortlessly across the river bridge on the 8:30 Aviva Trains Wales service from Manchester Piccadilly to Cardiff Central.
Newport is truly a modern day garden of Eden.
If anyone is considering staying in Newport for Millenium Magic I have just one word for you.
Reconsider. |

How about Magor services? There is a travel lodge or a premier inn or something there. One room will sleep 4 if it's only for one night and you are all good friends. |

Did you know video game publisher Capcom based the setting for Resident Evil 2's zombie infested Racoon City on Newport? You will notice when playing the game the similarities to the local architecture in Bettws, Somerton and Carleon are uncanny and they have also managed to capture the shuffling, braindead, violent mobs that haunt Newport city centre at night with amazing accuracy. |

Now lets be honest Crucrucrucrucrucrucrucrucru.
It wouldnt matter where I told you I lived right now, I'm sure you would have something negative to say about it. If I told you I lived in an air conditioned castle in Florida that was made entirely out of solid gold and I spent my days lying on a king size bed being spoon fed ambrosia (not the custard) by a multitude of sex crazed semi naked page 3 models you would say 'Wot a shíthole' (or similar)
No offence intended to you personally but from what I've seen of your area I would sooner live in the middle of the demilitarized zone between North and South Korea in a leaking nuclear reactor with a huge target painted on the side of it than Newport. |

That's the thing though, you wish you lived in an air conditioned castle in Florida but you don't.
You knock Newport but most of the quotes are from Valley people such as the Aberdare post so I think you lived in a Valley area when you were in Wales. I'd prefer a town/city compared to a valley area but each to their own. You seem to have knocked quite a few places during your time on rlfans so at least it isn't just an anti-welsh thing. It seems to be an anti-everything else chip on your shoulder.
