Comparing to the funding of a muti million pound sports stadium these are very minor events. After gaining outline PP ( which was given in 08 ) these are just standard procedures.
Looking at the the following link it doesn't seem the RFL are convinced just yet.
www.superleague.co.uk/article.php?id=20926
The following quote was interesting;
Quote “It gives me great satisfaction to know that the sport will have two new stadiums in the next two years with St Helens and Salford City both moving to state-of-the-art facilities.
'"
If the project is a gimmie, why no recognition from the RFL? Only way to convince them will be to show them your ability to deliver, it's the only fair way forward.

| Quote ="deeHell"Lets not turn this into a Wakey bashing thing, countless other threads on here provide for that. So what's the problem with having to demonstrate to the RFL franchise committee that you have the funds? If you have it you will pass the test with flying colours. What most Cas fans are saying on here is "trust us we have the money". I could imagine your reaction if another team said such a thing. In reality the project has hardly moved in the 3 years from 2008 except for another phase of paper work! The reality it seems is different to the perception your club is trying to give off.

the reality is wakey will be kicked out of SL and cas wont

Possibly because it's not got permission yet... why would he say it's being built when that's not confirmed yet?
It's impossible to know 100% that it's going ahead until cement is going in the ground - I would have thought Wakey fans of all people would have learnt that lesson by now...
I'm sure once FPP is awarded and the diggers are on site, the RFL will start getting excited about the build

| Whats the point in all this "weve got it", "you aint got it" nonsense. Lets just wait untill PP is accepted. If work starts weve got the money, if it doesnt we havent got it.....simples
This should happen before licences are submitted, so we dont need to [iconvince[/i the RFL. Were either going to start work or not.

| Even if Cas' new stadium falls flat on it's face, Wakefield will be in the championship next year, not Cas. If picking holes in other clubs stadium plans is your way of coping with the pain of administration then fill your boots.

So let's see
Where are the Wakey up to on their similar timescale list?
Oh yes, that would be nowhere.

Yep, remember a few years ago when I came on here every fan wished one another well for the season and it was generally good mannered. However now it seems much more cut throat and reminds me of a football forum I visit daily.

F off.
I know what you mean - it's partly that and partly just good old fashioned bias. Putting aside stadium building for a second, this sort of thing comes alive when ever a thread starts about stadium ownership or finances. You'll be hard pressed to find a fan of SuperLeague team especially admitting 'Yeah, we're stuffed. Haven't got a pot to p155 in'. Wakefield excepted of course. Christ, Wigan had to borrow someone elses stadium to play a playoff game and the retort was 'least our running costs at the JJB are low'.

| Quote ="Inflatable_Armadillo"Hmmm interesting one, I would not be surprised to see Xscape and J32 put in an reserved matters objection pushing Wakefield MDC to force Castleford to provide more car parking spaces on site. It is a tricky one for them, they will get increased revenue but as everyone knows, the car parks to both Xscape and J32 are packed to bursting on a weekend and they won't want people buggering off over the bridge for two or more hours and not putting any money in the tills over that time period on busy weekend!
So, has an arrangement been reached with Xscape and J32 for regular Friday night games and abandoning Sunday afternoon fixtures where possible? Friday night at Xscape is busy but the J32 car park is getting quiet at around 6.30pm! Xscape would love that, more spaces and more money for them on a Friday and all the people are in their place before and after the game. However, will J32 like people using their car park... I suspect if Xscape come to an arrangement for Friday, Saturday or Sunday evenings by bunging some 'car park maintenance' cash their way then maybe yes!'"
