For such a supposedly rugby mad city there's hardly any players in the league from Hull.
Where as small towns like Wigan & Cas can produce a large amount of players who are dotted around pretty much every team in the league and McRae the hypocrite with Pearson's money are going to poach these players instead of trying to produce local talent themselves.

Its a small world and word of mouth gets round. I have heard things as to why Chase wants out of Cas. These are reasons I am told, however I will apologize if I stated them as fact (sometimes get on one in rant mode) because as you say they is no hard evidence to suggest these are true. I do believe the guys who told me though never being wrong thus far.

Association football isn't corrupt to it's core at all.
That still doesn't change the fact that AP seems to think that money isn't an issue and that in itself isn't a bad thing as far as he can see.
I do wonder how far he will go though if his latest splurge doesn't bring results seeing as his track record indicates that he normally likes to run a very tight ship.

I was previously a City season pass holder until it became that silly money was needed just to pay for one due to the amounts needed just to survive (not AP's fault).
So I actually hold AP in high regard.
Perhaps you as an FC fan are blinded to how he sounds as he is your knight is shining armour.
Infact seeing as I hold AP in high regard I think this is far more likely don't you?'"
I definitley don't see him as the knight in shining armour, they is a long way to go before he can be even classed as that, I just understand after all the bad stuff going on at Hull over the past few seasons it needs a lot of positive news. AP is a smart business man and knows this, hence why he feels the constant need during a tough patch on the pitch to remind supporters of the investments and that they is money available to improve the squad. Sure it may get tiring but if it creates a buzz and gets more people to go to games then I am all for it.
If AP had appeared on SSN every day this week loving himself up I would have thought you had a point. However all interviews have being purely for local media and on the FC club website as a message to Hull FC fans. Whether you hold him in high regard or not, you probably are just jealous your club are not in a simular position at the moment to buy such players.

I have said our youth has being vastly under invested in the last ten seasons. We have invested this season so hopefully we can get back on track within a few seasons. Now are you Cas fans going to take a and realize this point or are you all going to have little tantrums about our youth set up and need us to continue pointing this out.
If I was bothered about getting into a big dick contest I'd name all the Hull born players, but as it don't matter I won't.

Fair enough. He did haggle Cas down from there 350k price though, which suggest to me he isn't going to throw stupid money about if its not 100% warranted. If that wasn't the case he would have got Chase earlier in the season.

From what i hear he haggled down to only just under 350k, fro Cas' asking price of roughly 400k.

The point I was making is that he is throwing money about.
I didn't mean large amounts in general but just a fair few more 'we want him so here have some cash' than normal.
I do honestly think that this splurging will stop though as it isn't in his nature to do it long term (Look at his 2 terms and City and his term at Derby as proof) He likes to run a tight ship, It's just the way the man works.

I agree thats why I see it more as him pleaing to the missing FC fans to comeback and give the ones who stayed some renewed optimism as opposed to him just trying to look the man. Its just something Hull supporters needed.

It seems we are not going to agree here as my view is that he is playing billy to try and get as many fans in as he can now IMHO what happens if his splurge doesn't pay off is a little more hazy.
I will say however that I do smile to myself when I read how some FC fans seem to have deluded themselves that it is a bottomless pit of cash.
Like I say AP doesn't work that way.

I genuinely believe that you have not properly listened to a single one of his interviews nor properly read a single report of his statements. It's the only explanation I can come up with for why you are so shockingly wide of the mark.
Never mind. I'm pretty sure neither AP nor most Hull fas will care too much.

That's been something of an enigma for decades now. The Hull area can produce teams at school, youth and open-age amateur level that can more than hold their own against the best of West Yorkshire, Lancashire & Cumbria. What goes wrong once these same players sign for the pro clubs is anyone's guess but few seem to kick on from their amateur success.
I honestly can't recollect a Hull-born & bred, international class half-back in the 50 years I've been following the game

| Don't understand the jibes at Pearson and Gentle about trying to buy a winning team and not concentrating on our youth. Pearson is always banging on about how our youth development has been very poor in recent years and how he's put a lot of money into that with new facilities location for game days. Gentle has also given more games to more U20 players in their specialised positions this season then Agar did in 4 years. Liam Kent, Josh Bowden, Ben Crooks, Danny Nicklas, James Cunningham, Reece Lyne and Chris Green have all played this season, with the first 3 playing a good amount of games for their debut seasons.

Which bit of "international class" were you struggling with?
IIRC Paul Cooke never represented his country at open-age and the only times Richard Horne did, he played on the wing.

Cooke played for England in the Federation Shield in 2006. It was an England/GB reserve squad, in effect.
The tournament was held in England and France whilst Great Britain played in the Four Nations down under.

Thanks I knew it was a reserve England/GB squad (I wasn't being a pedant honestly Coddy as I thought you classed any level as playing for your country.)
I have this mental image of Cooke lining up a kick whilst in an England shirt.
It was in the HDM IIRC.
