That's one player who I've already condemned, was more mistimed, but contact with the head, so will get 3/4 games.

Nearly all of Fev players were trying to hurt Hull players as soon as they realise the game was over. Started with the tackle on Shaul, wheeldon on Connor then the tackles on Litten and Masi. Looked like a tactical move to slow us down and spoil the game, it certainly worked, shame as they played good rugby at times.

Agree that the Taulapapa hit on Shaul was the catalyst of it going into a slugfest.Straight red even though he didn't contact the head.As bad an impact as I've seen this season Shaul was totally smashed whilst unprepared and wouldn't be surprised if he's worse for wear now the games finished.Not even a yellow seemed to turn a fairly normal game into a war? Ref totally lost control and the players took matters into their own hands.Suppose Fc should have been more professional and not get drawn into it but that's easy to say whilst teammates are getting cheap shotted? Connor incident may draw further action? Not sure who landed a corker on Hock at the end maybe Griffin or Hadley?Plenty of referrals after this game? Lots of good tries and wasn't a bad game to watch but the ref turned that last 20min into WWE

Taulapapa should have had 10 minutes to cool off, but no way it was a red card. The ref lost control, and I was surprised it didn't end up with a full-blown brawl. Both teams were guilty of being drawn into some unprofessional play, but it was entertaining as a neutral to watch. The big problem with the ref was that he didn't communicate with the players. He was authoritative, but didn't gain their respect.

It was a bad one and he didn't miss.

Ref lost control.

Real shame about the injuries to Hull players, all looked honest and no bad tackles but if you're a Hull FC fan it may be a long road now this year.

No exaggerating. If we have a bad time at the disciplinary next week we could worst case scenario be missing 13 or 14 players at the magic weekend.

Are all injured, although I am hopeful with the last two that them not playing tonight was more precautionary than anything else. Thats not including any after effects Shaul might feel from the Talupapa hit.

All banned. Again, I dont expect the last two to get anything but who knows?

Then to top it off we have Turgut out on loan and I dont think enough time has passed to recall him.

It will be an interesting 19 man squad next week.

I’m awaiting all the fans from fev up in arms at the brutal nature of the game like they did after we played them in the cup and Rangi Chase put an illegal shot on Ropati. I doubt it though, the great unwashed don’t have long memories. Well done Hull.

Once again Hull fans think there the only team that has injuries we have 11 of our first 17 out so next week will be a reserve Derby by the looks of it and the only bad thing about last night was that Conner didn't get a good whack he starts things and then runs away like a little bitch

I’d say it was the players loosing self control rather than the ref loosing control. Yes, the ref made mistakes but he’s human and will do. The ref didn’t whack anyone round the head, throw punches or tip people upside down. It’s the players responsibility to maintain self control and on this occasion a fair few were unable to.

Yes I agree. The ref handled it all poorly, but the players have to be better than that.

The referee was no means excellent, but other then that - what really could he of done differently with the cards situation.

Briscoe - professional foul - 10 mins correct
Shaul - professional foul - 10 mins correct
Davies - Head high - 10 mins correct
Faraimo - head shot swinning arm - red card - correct

The pushing one's wouldn;t have been yellows earlier in the game but he needed it to simmer down - so probably correct.

The sooner we start putting pressure on the players as well and not just blaming the ref the quicker we would get results and action. Jake connor is as much to blame for increasing tensions with his constant mouth on overdrive, feigning injury to get penalties and then laughing about it, slow clapping the ref, trying to get under hocks skin in an already tension filled game.

The guy needs to grow up quickly.

Absolutely right - it never ceases to amaze me how some fans will happily subscribe to the theory that players are unable to control themselves but for an assertive referee keeping their aggression in check; it's nonsense - the onus is, without a doubt, on the players. In this case - despite Fev's slowing tactics, Hull were totally on top - why let themselves be dragged down?

That was a bloody horrible game - if you're a neutral checking out RL for the first time, or a potential sponsor, you've just had all your RL stereotypes confirmed.

And then you're probably thinking about tuning in next time for more of the same.

I agree people saying ref was poor and lost control, i thought he did a good job considering both teams seems more happy to try to knock lumps out of each other, whats the ref supposed to do he gave them plenty of chances to straighten themselves out, then lost patience and got the cards out.
