| Quote ="PopTart"1) Who scored the only try for GB in the three test matches against Aussies in 1982?
1b) Who were the 6 tourists from Parramatta and which English teams did they play for?
2) What team did Richard Harries play for in the film This Sporting Life?
2b) Who layed Harris out in the flash back sequence for This Sporting Life?
3) Who should have captained the 1979 Lions tour to Aus but got sent off and banned for fighting and pushing the touch judge on the way off.

1. Steve Evans, in the final test at Headingley
1b. Peter Sterling (Hull)
Brett Kenny (Wigan)
Eric Grothe (Leeds)
John Muggleton (Hull)
Terry Webb (Leeds)?
Kerry Boustead (Hull kr)?
2 Wakefield
3. I think you mean 1984, as that was the year Len Casey got a good hiding from Fred Ah Koui, got sent off and pouched the tj on his way to the early bath, getting a 6 month ban for being such an aris.

| St George won 11 back to back Premierships from '56-'66. Richard Harris played Frank Machin (not Arthur) and Ken Traill of Bradford Northern was also in the film. Wigan went 43 games with a draw against St Helens, there was no draw with Hull KR. Len Casey was withdrawn from that tour for what the above poster said ('84) but I could swear Trevor Skerrett was pencilled in as captain and had to withdraw through injury and not Casey.

Frank is right - you get to my age and the memory starts to go!
As I recall Ken Traill played the coach. Still not sure who clobbered Harris in the flashback. Got the film on DVD might dig it out tomorrow.
Can't remember Trevor Skerrett ever being considered for the captaincy. As I remember Brian Noble captained in the end.

Skerrett was originally due to lead the tour but had to withdraw through injury. Casey was next in line but made an idiot of himself by giving the touch judge a beckhamesque petulant push.

| My mistake about Casey. Was of course not 1979 and yes was suspended for pushing a touch judge after being sent off for fighting with Fred Au Koui. Never good to push an official but the guy was chuntering on at him after he was sent off. He desreved it.
This Sporting Life team was "City" not Wakefield. They just played their and used the fans and players in the game sequences.
Derek Turner hit him.....for real by all accounts.
GB Try Scorer in 1982 series was Steve Evans as mentioned above
1982 Para players were
Ray Price - Wakefield
Peter Sterling - Hull
Brett Kenny - Wigan
John Muggleton - Hull
Eric Growth - Leeds
Steve Ella - Wigan and Wakefield

Good shout! I wasn't thinking of him actually, but you're spot on:
2000 Bulls v Leeds at Murrayfield
2003 Bulls v Leeds at Cardiff
2006 Saints v Huddersfield at Twickenham
2007/08 Saints v Catalans / Hull at New Wembley
I was thinking of someone else, but also considered Old Wembley and New Wembley as different stadiums.

| Speaking of Floodlit Trophies...
Why was Bramley's victory in the 1973 Final of the BBC Floodlit Trophy something of a misnomer?

Catalancs answer is better than the real one - which is that it was played on a Wednesday afternoon to conserve electricity due to the miners strike.
Don't think that the Captain Morgan Trophy was the same as the ITV Floodlight Trophy. I remember Bradford Northern playing in the Captain Morgan's and they had no floodlights at the time (round about 1973). Think the ITV Floodlight Trophy was a one off thing well before that.

Warrington are the only team to have won the ITV Floodlight trophy in 1955/56 season, this is the only time the trophy was played.
