Mate, at the end of the day, I'm assuming that we both want this sport to keep going and to keep improving. We've clearly got different views on how that can happen.
I believe in expansion, you clearly don't - that's fine. I don't think that simply showing an interest in your ideas on how you'd achieve those aims is enough to merit the sort of childish insults you've thrown around. That's all.

| Quote ="bramleyrhino"Either is good.
Personally, as a digital marketer I've consulted with two clubs on their digital strategy, both of which are now driving significantly more revenue from their digital media channels.
As for what Leeds are doing, they're providing the sport with its biggest (and probably most lucrative from a media market perspective) audience, and the club is at least one of top three biggest contributors to the elite player talent pool. You won't find may clubs in SL, the Championship or L1 without a Leeds academy graduate in it.
That enough for you?'"
Digital marketeer ? Ooh that sounds ' grand ' , but fair enough , well done , did you get paid for your consultancy ? , have you offered your services to other less financially gifted clubs for free ( as in helping the sport ? )
So let's say the other posters are say a postman , other than buying match tickets and merchandise and actually attending matches home and away when possible do you expect them to do to help the sport ?
Similarily being the big fish in the big pond , I'd expect Leeds contribution to the sport to be bigger than say Batley , no doubt given the choice the dad of a promising kid or his coach that probably gets free tickets to Headingley will push little Johnny to Leeds rather than Mount Pleasant
Do Leeds follow the RFL guidelines on Scolarship numbers or do they overload as certain clubs this side of the hill do ? , giving the smaller clubs very little to work with ?
So what do you want from us ? , us lesser clubs provide you with opposition , unless of course you'd rather all just play each other every 5/6 weeks ?
Again it's criticising us for our location of birth

Plenty insults on both sides
I'm fine with expansion , but if it results in clubs not being able to gain admittance via on field results , then in or out , I'll probably step away apart from the odd game ( if my club can survive of course ) and finally rebuild my Ford Pop
It wasn't a concious decision last time , it just crept up on me , it got boring

You're largely twisting what I said to be honest. My argument is that Cokey (and others) and I clearly have different views on how to achieve what I assume is a similar aim. I've made my views clear and put them out there to be shot at - I'm simply interested in opposing views to achieve that aim.
Individuals can help the sport as they wish. Yes I was paid for my work in a professional capacity (both clubs were happy to pay my fee and more than got their investment back) - I've also been a shareholder at Bramley if that interests you (a club that was interestingly held back due to clubs like Leigh voting to oppose automatic promotion from the National League) and contributed time and money to their cause.
It's really got nothing to do with punishing people for where they were born and simply about seeing the sport grow as I believe it can and should with the right effort at both club and governing body level. What I did for the two clubs referred to above is nothing that any club couldn't do if they could see the opportunities. Unfortunately, too many see marketing as a cost centre, rather than an investment.
If you want to take my views a personal slight against any club or set of fans, that's totally on you.

I have never ever mentioned that i don't agree with expansion. What i don't like, Is your smuggy we're are alright at the top,so i'll demean the lesser clubs. When Perez builds his rugby empire on the other side of the pond, then decides to stick 2 fingers up to the RFL when he has enough clubs for their own league, their own salary cap etc, then what? How would that leave us?

Just out of interest what do you believe Leigh can achieve ? , and would you be happy to support a club at that level , I assume you follow both Leeds and Bramley but expect different things from both

It is that sort of narrow minded thought process that has the game shuffling along with the same crowds in 2017 as we had a decade ago and with no real strategic plan to take the game forward other than to let private investors prop up clubs or fund fanciful expansionist clubs whilst the same 12/14 clubs dine from the central funding trough, jealously protecting "their game"
Marketing is an investment. You are correct that sometimes you don't get a return on the investment, but that is not the fault of "marketing" but the fault of the clubs for paying peanuts and employing monkeys who don't know how to market well!
Marketing is not a cost..........but what cost do you apportion failure to market? There's an actual figure to answer that by the way....so it was a loaded question.
David Hughes has flushed between 17-20 million pounds down the crapper over the last 12 years or so and his failure to put anything more than a pittance into marketing has resulted in a Team getting 4k averages in a state of the art Rugby facility becoming a 2nd division club teetering on the brink with 350 ST holders and playing out of a wedding venue and still 100% reliant on his benevolence........let that figure sink in, because that is the cost of NOT Marketing.

Hi Gutters , how's Wellinton tonight , I was hoping to visit in January but looks unlikely now
As a ' Marketeer ' you'll always put forward that argument , and to a degree you're right , especially on London , there is always more that can/could have been done , but it is a gamble , rarely have I seen any ' marketeer ' offer to do the work and only get paid out of the profits afterwards

| Eric Perez is the greatest thing to happen to rugby league since the French tour of Australia in 1955.
He should be given complete control over what will turn out to be the North American conference of Super League (consisting hopefully of Toronto, Montreal, New York, Boston and perhaps Philadelphia or Jacksonville or Chicago). That conference will likely provide a Grand finalist of Super League by 2025, just in time for the north American based World Cup.

They should have their own player pool by 2025, by recruiting backs, especially halves, from rugby union, and backs and forwards from American/Canadian football.
Each of these new clubs have to get their own junior setups and try to get into the schools. The billionaire backers should be encouraged to fund such activities.

No they won't and yes they will have a league of their own. Followed by another restructure, and the heartlands left to mop up again. Unless.....We make it work in our favour, preferably dosh.

It would be fantastic if North American teams became so strong they could set up their own fully professional league that could compete with Super League and the NRL. Why do you think this would be a bad thing? Super League teams could play the North American teams in a Champions League style tournament. I don’t think whether or not this will ever happen has much relevance to admitting New York to the Championship.
