It's not so much at Hull but in general. The compensation system in League is ludicrous. How is it fair that a player, who a club has invested lots of money in and brought through gets paid what I consider to be peanuts if they leave for nothing under the age of 23?

I have never said Castlesford youth system is poor and if I did it would have purely being for sarcastic purposes. The point is you said whats the point of developing youth if you can buy other peoples players. I was merely pointing out that Cas themselves sign other teams players and if your youth set up was fantastic you wouldn't need to do so. Our youth setup has being poor and under invested in for 10 years. We have made changes and investments and now play the waiting game. What else is they to say on the matter ?

If it is so poor, I wish other teams would stop taking our players (particularly yours - Lynch, Westerman, Arundle). Next year we will have 15 (16 if Danny Orr doesn't retire) home-grown players in our full-time squad, most of whom will be in the first choice 17.

Everyone gets in players of other teams. But most clubs supplement the few they have with their own youngsters - look at Leeds and Wigan.

Its plainly obvious that for Rangi to sign a four year deal he would want clarification on the stadium front as I would say if it wasn't for Bradford you would be probably favorites to drop out of SL next time round. They is noway a player would sign a contract without knowing if the club plans to improve on that front. Obviousley at the time of the deal Millward was coach but Rangi had not worked under him and everyone smiles for photos.

So a player from the 5 towns area, a player poached from Cas and one of the few players Hull have actually been able to produce from the city.

That is something we are aiming for as a long term goal. AP said in an interview the other day that he wants / the team needs to be full of England knights and England players. Hopefully in five seasons time we will all be patting the club on the back for achieving this but only time will tell.

Where as small towns like Wigan & Cas can produce a large amount of players who are dotted around pretty much every team in the league and McRae the hypocrite with Pearson's money are going to poach these players instead of trying to produce local talent themselves.

I definitley don't see him as the knight in shining armour, they is a long way to go before he can be even classed as that, I just understand after all the bad stuff going on at Hull over the past few seasons it needs a lot of positive news. AP is a smart business man and knows this, hence why he feels the constant need during a tough patch on the pitch to remind supporters of the investments and that they is money available to improve the squad. Fair enough. He did haggle Cas down from there 350k price though, which suggest to me he isn't going to throw stupid money about if its not 100% warranted. If that wasn't the case he would have got Chase earlier in the season.
