| Quote ="Leon Ashton"icon_lol.gif This is pure comedy, amateur teams ring each other 72 hours prior to the game to arrange kits and generally tend to manage, sometimes these clubs have never played each other also the kits aren't on tv and in the press everyweek. Yet between 2 professional clubs and the RFL they can't work out who wears what.
'"
Correct. Home team rings away team and asks three questions:
1) what colour kit are you bringing (home team's responsibility to change with any clash)
2) you know its a X Kick off don't you?
3) Do you need directions?
given what happened, I'm surpised Cas didnt travel to the Galpharm...

| Widnes once wore a W!re shirt at Wilderspool apparently for one reason or t'other!
Despite winning us the World Club Championship one of our lads still finds it hard to forgive Dougie for this calling it his 'worst ever moment as a Widnes fan' think we may have got battered too!

Very few sports teams now use TURF. They use those special pitches which are made up of plastic with real grass growing through it

| Basically, whoever puts this kit directive together hasn't got a clue. I remember a couple of years ago, Huddersfield turned up to play at the KC in their white away strip in a season when our home kit was predominantly white as well. Steve McNamara actually brought the 'directive' into the post-match press conference to show the journo's that the colour clash wasn't Huddersfield's fault. Farcical.
Having just had a quick scan of the 'directive' for the remainder of the season I see that we're playing in our home (black and white) kit when we play Leeds away, yet will be wearing our change strip of predominantly white at both Cas and Crusaders. I would say that the only possible clash of the three would be at Leeds as we'll both be wearing dark kits. Meanwhile, we could easily play in black and white at both Cas and Crusaders with no hint of a clash. There's no wonder rugby league is seen as a joke at times.....

Quote ="nottinghamtiger"Yet again, may I direct you to the Kit Directive issued by the RFL. It works quite simply. The directives are updated during the season and were updated 2 weeks ago - the ones on the web haven't changed since February.
The revised directive had Hudds in Alternative and Cas in Principal.

That was the rule many moons ago--home to change if there was a clash.
Now there are directives from the organisation who messed up the kits in last year's Challenge Cup Final.

| What exactly did Hilda do other than kindly turn up and open a door?
I'm sure she's a lovely old dear, but me judging by the reaction you'd think she got her needles out and knitted 17 tops in 20 minutes.

Paul Crashley was interviewed before the game and stated he was not aware of who was at fault and that he would have to write a long report.
Was this interviewed followed with a subsequent one where he openly said Cas were at fault? I can't imagine the match commissioner making such a judgement on television.
I didn't bother hanging round to watch the game after such a complete farce. Fax's ground looks when the cameras point at the crappy old stand!!

There should have been no colour clash.
Huddersfield were directed to wear their principal kit.
Castleford were directed to wear their alternative kit.
Castleford arrived with the kit directed.
Huddersfield did not.
How difficult is this to understand?'"
There's no point linking to the RFL site, they conveniently changed that document today to make it look like they never made a cock up in the first place. If Cas and Hudds are in the wrong then give them a telling off and to get their ass in gear. But if the rugby's' own governing body is in the wrong also then own up to it, don't go trying to hide it when we've all seen what was written.

Forgetting the bollox on the directive for a sec, you asked to use your away shirt for your home fixture against us, we agreed on proviso we do likewise in the return fixture so thats agreed in Feb, your then e mailed on the 17th May reminding you bout the kits for the Shay game.
Now seriously for a second, who had the wrong kit yesterday?
You got internet in Cas yet?

Electronic communication is a wonderful thing, just recently I sent one to the manager of where I work, and hey guess what, he never received it due to problems with an email server. Can you prove that Cas got their email from the RFL on 17th May??? Thought not unless you happen to work for the RFL and put the send/receive communicator on the email.

It happens, i would have thought Mr Wright would have come out and cleared it up by now if that was the case. RT has put our side over, surely Cas would counter it.

What verbal agreement would that be then? I recall no such agreement being reported, as all the Huddersfield fans seem to be conveniently remembering...

Why?
I don't think anyone was robbed, burgled, raped, run over or shot.
Mix up with shirts.
No one was killed.
No big deal.

| Has anyone realised that this wouldn't normally be an issue as the home team always has both sets of kit in the same building as the changing rooms. Normally Huddersfield would change and we wouldn't hear of it.
